Dun Horse 3 Blue Ship (Crown) 2
Colin Bolton 1030 John Thayre 2960 John broke off with about 1k – That’s about it really! Everything went pear shaped from there.
Stuart Hope 2760 Colin Barrow 960 After a bit of messing about from both players, Stu got the break back and made enough to take the game.
Dave Simmons 1830 Peter Barnett 4750 Barney started off with about 1500, Dave played like a beginner. Barney got the pace and stretched his lead. Dave finally got going just before the bar dropped. ::)
Grant Hope 3640 Hugh Fowler 1130 Grant took an early lead after Hugh messed up his break. Nothing much happened mid game until Hugh pulled back level, Grant got the break back out of nowhere and rattled in 2k+ to save the game.
Scott Hope 5040 Dave Sands 1320 After about 6 visits there was about 200 on the board between them. Scott got the break back and racked up nearly 3k, including some awkward ball clearances that were truly painful to watch. Dave, like others before, didn’t really get to grips with the table allowing Scott to stretch his lead.
A better result for the Dun tonight on a table that played rather awkwardly for most players. The Crown team good company as always. A spread of delicious sandwiches (inc. Egg) was available after the match. ;)

BFZ? how about Big Fat Zero Less x-rated and more politically correct than my guess. :o ::) One of the Tunny Wells players has the nickname FNB, which I was reliably informed stood for "Friendly Northern Bloke" though there seemed to be a certain amount of irony implicated...... ;D

You're surprisingly close with "Frankly Not Bothered", Gandalf.
It will make an anagram if you replace "Yokel" with "A star". ;D ;D ;D

Springbok SC 0 The Railway 5
B. Hicks 1190 S.Merriott 4100 Steve started brightly find the split well, Bill had opportunities to get into the game, but just could not keep his points scored at every visit. Steve put the game out of reach with a late flurry.
G. Jarrett 740 M. Davies 2250 Both players found the break and then both followed up with weak shots to leave the balls up. Mark started to get the better of the table and though Graham tried valiantly he just could not put a decent break together.
A. Goacher 420 N. Worsfold 4550 Nigel did not find the split with first visit, however Alice playing her first game to help out a depleted Springbok team could not take advantage. Nigel's next visit saw him hit a break of 1K, followed by a couple of high scoring visits. Alice's nerves got the better of her and she just could not get going.
T. Goacher 1130 R. Gardner 2110 Ray found the break but left balls up on third shot. Trevor should of capitilised but made an error letting Ray back in. This was a game when the pegs got punished, with Trevor winning that contest. Both players tried shots to win the break back, but it was not to be, but Ray did enough to claim the point.
G. Marshall 1200 M. Clack 1500 Closest game of the evening, neither player racking up a mass of points, but both working hard to nose in front. Mick got the better of the table and though Gary tried he just was not gonna get the break back.
A good night with the Railway lads, they were great with Alice who stepped up to the plate to help us out and it is appreciated.
Cheers
