I was wondering if we could start a Jersey League Posting area as i never know how well or badly our team are doing. The JBBA website is never updated (i believe this is being looked at though) but it would be nice to know how the other teams have got on during wednesdays matches. I know quite a few jersey players logon to proboards so can we get a brief match report or something on the go??? i am too impatient to wait until the following wednesday and read the Evening Post!!!
I will start things off;
The Ambassador hosted the Royal St. Martin and had the breaks, i have no scores on me but here are the results, scores on future posts would be nice though.
Paul Newton vs Mike Phillips RSM Win Emma Noel vs Michelle Baden RSM Win Dave Jones vs James Pallot AMB Win Jenny Wallace vs Peter Frain AMB Win Rab Wallace vs James Jeanne RSM Win Josie vs Alan Phillips RSM Win
Royal St. Martin win their first game of the season 4-2. Peter Frain still looking for his first career win....ever....it will come i'm sure!
could other jersey teams do something like this, im just curious to know how other teams have done over the weeks.

Great idea Mike :) other leagues around the UK post weekly scores on here all the time so there's no reason why we (Jersey) can't do it either.
As you know, most of the time the weekly write up doesn't get put into the JEP (JEP's fault!!) so you never know how well teams/players are doing :(

Yeah - go for it James. there used to be some interesting banter between The Layabouts and Breakaways over here in Guernsey. As I am not playing this season and there are only five teams in this year, no one has posted any reports as far as i am aware. However next season it could be a different matter, with a few players making comebacks from exile.

Bar billiard report: Week 7 – 10 November 2010
Last week saw the first upset of the season with division 2 La Marquanderie maul the Dog & Sausage from Division 1. The hosts, with only four players, took the opening two games with wins from Danny Bickerton and Mike Matthews (6,490). Dave Anderton managed to pull one back, before Frank Cadoret and Danny Bickerton playing his second of the night secured a famous 4 – 2 triumph. La Marquanderie now lead division 2 with a game in hand.
The Ambassadeur played host to the Royal St Martin and found themselves 3 – 0 down at half time. The Royal’s victories coming from Alan Phillips, son Michael and Michelle Baden. Jenny Wallace stopped the rot only for James Jeanne to win the next. David Jones won the last of the evening to leave the final score Ambassadeur 2 v 4 Royal St Martins.
The Devonshire maintained their fine form with a hard fought draw away at the Airport Social Club. Mark Blanchet took the opener for the host before a last ball win from June Hopwood squared the contest. Emile “the Maestro” gave the visitors the lead only for Mick Egre to equalise for the ASC in a close encounter. Paul Le Gresley once again gave the hosts the advantage but then up stepped Emile to claim his second win of the night.
Unfortunately no card received from the Trinity Arms A and Mont Felard Clash. we will keep you posted as and when it comes in! so table below as it stands for Div 1
TEAM PLAYED WON LOST DRAW FOR AGAINST POINTS Trinity Arms A 5 4 0 1 22 8 31 Devonshire A 5 4 0 1 22 8 31 Dog & Sausage 6 2 1 3 20 16 27 Royal St Martin 5 1 3 1 12 18 15 Mont Felard 4 1 2 1 8 16 11
hmm...it appears the top three are beginning to run away. nothing that a good run of form can cure! Division 2 table stands as follows;
TEAM PLAYED WON LOST DRAW FOR AGAINST POINTS La Marquanderie 5 4 1 0 18 12 26 Airport Social Club 6 2 2 2 19.5 16.5 25.5 Ambassadeur 6 1 3 2 15.5 20.5 19.5 Devonshire B 7 1 5 1 14.5 27.5 17.5 Shipwright 5 0 3 2 10.5 19.5 12.5
thanks to John Germain (jbba league manager) for the report and the tables

Last night saw a rest for most teams in the league as the preliminary rounds of the Divisional KO's started. Two teams from both the First division and second division competed for the chance of reaching the Semi's. Division one saw a clash between two evenly matched sides, the Mont felard and the Royal St. Martin. The KO sees both teams having three breaks each, all decided before the draw.
Here are the results (*denotes player with the break)
Alan Phillips 3180 vs 560 Matthew Smart* *Michelle Baden 2970 vs 1490 Matthew Malorey James Jeanne 9770 vs 290 Ken Malorey* *Samantha Murray 1540 vs 3240 Ryle Saunders Michael Phillips 6680 vs 1790 Sean Le Beauvant* *James Pallot 1630 vs 1330 Clarry Lagadu
The Royal St. Martin won the night with a fantastic break of over 9k by James Jeanne, on what proved to be a difficult table at the Ambassador hotel. The Royal progress to the next round.
The Division Two Preliminary KO round saw a clash between the Ambassador and the Devonshire "B" side. unfortunately i do not have any results from this game as yet.

Bar billiard report: Week 11 – 15 December 2010
At the half way stage the Trinity Arms look well set to win the division 1 title with their eighth win of the campaign this time away to the La Marquanderie. Bob King set the tone for the evening with a break of 6,350 (total 6,720) to take the opener followed by wins from Dennis Helleur, Graham Bisson, and Nigel Ryall. Mike Matthews then put in the performance of the night with a break of 7,600 to pull one back. Kevin D’Avione took the last to record the Arms’ fifth 5 – 1 score line.
The reigning champions, the Devonshire “A” are still in contention but are 13 points adrift following a 4 -2 away win at the Shipwright. Harry Barbet (6,040), Alan Le Blond and Keith Vibert put the visitors 3 – 0 up. The half time team talk from Adam Woodworth worked wonders as Alan Jones and Steve Last reduced the deficit to 3 – 2. The complete fightback was not to be with Fred Jeanne clinching the decider.
The Airport Social Club hosted the Mont Felard which proved to be a ding dong affair. Ashley Malorey’s opening win was more than cancelled out by Paul Le Gresley and Rod Smith. Sean Le Beuvant equalised only for John Germain to once again hand the hosts the advantage. The win was however to allude the ASC with Ryle Saunders holding his nerve and secure the draw. They are now a mere 1 ½ point adrift of the La Marquanderie with a game in hand.
The Devonshire “B” played the Royal St Martin. Michelle Baden and the young Amber Hopwood shared the opening games. James Jeanne, with a score of 8,090, and Alan Phillips gave the visitors the lead. The Hopwood’s were however having a good evening with mother June then winning. Carrying on the family theme Michael Phillips, took the last of the night to secure the win for the Royal.
DIVISION 1 TEAM PLAYED WON LOST DRAW FOR AGAINST POINTS Trinity Arms A 9 8 0 1 42 12 59 Devonshire A 8 6 1 1 33 15 46 Dog & Sausage 8 4 1 3 30 18 41 Royal St Martin 8 4 3 1 25 23 34 Mont Felard 9 3 3 3 23 31 32 DIVISION 2 TEAM PLAYED WON LOST DRAW FOR AGAINST POINTS La Marquanderie 9 4 4 1 24 30 33 Airport Social Club 8 2 3 3 24.5 23.5 31.5 Ambassadeur 8 1 5 2 18.5 29.5 22.5 Devonshire B 9 1 7 1 17.5 36.5 20.5 Shipwright 8 0 6 2 14.5 33.5 16.5
