Just to let everyone know for when you come over for the World Championships in November, The Africa House now has a Bar Billiard table back in again, and the Dog and Sausage has one upstairs too.
The Mont Felard at St Lawrence still has a table but it will be being moved to the larger games room upstairs and will have been recovered by November so it should play quite well.
All the best Nick

Hello Norman
Dave Perrier is the manager now, he plays Bar Billiards for the Shipwright.
No it's not as manic now, much calmer!
Forgot to mention, both the Africa and the Mont Felard tables are 50p

Yes, sorry, forgot about the Star & Tipsy, St Peter. They have a table at £1 per game.
However, as they no longer have a team in the league I don't know what quality it will be in by then.

Sean Thanks, two yrs ago we had a 'Sav challenge' there and Sav scored an effortless off-the-spot 15k. ;D They do exotic bar meals there as well (prawn sandwiches etc). Will probably finish up there if we can't get a game on the Landmark.

A 'Jersey Virgin', TJ ! ;D
You will not be disappointed, but will be left with the feeling "why have I not done this before ?"
This will be my twelfth visit. Don't forget to take with you a copious beer fund. :P

Don't forget to take with you a copious beer fund. :P Not a problem Tommo, You just take your debit card to any of the Jersey Beer Voucher dispensers in the town outside banks and building societies and problem solved. ;D ;D ;D If you go into any pub with your Jersey Beer Vouchers they will be most pleased to see you and exchange them for copious drafts of ale. It's going to be strange going into the Dog & Sausage this year without Terry being the landlord after so many years! Hope his retirement is going well. Always refreshing to walk in there and be greated with 'B----y hell, it must be November again already!' Sav.

Feel safe because Mr Molloy says he will be making sure I do not go astray, and being a man of sobriety will not need too many ale vouchers.

If Molloy is looking after you, I think you might need a bank loan before you go :)

If Molloy is looking after you, I think you might need a bank loan before you go :) Some years ago I was 'Molloyed' and 'Toyed' in the Corinthian on the Monday prior to the tournament. I had a vision of Steve Collins (the boxing one) walking into the pub some time in the afternoon, but am not sure, with the pace of the drinking, whether I was seeing things or not. Bets of luck Tone!

Message from the BB Reaper who is already enjoying the hospitality out in Jersey....... ::)
Apparently the table at the Dog & Sausage is not available to play on until Saturday...... due to "low demand"! ???
Strange decision you would think with so many people coming out to Jersey to play, no doubt the other venues with tables will benefit from people visiting them instead. 8-) ;D

The Dog & Sausage is now available for practise. Stuart (Manager) and Sharon (Manageress) were not aware of the competition this weekend, (I'm sure we told them) although as Stuart is a relative of Terry and previously barstaff, he does know most of you who want to visit the pub. He asked me to express his apologies and can confirm that anyone wanting a session at the D&S is more than welcome. Just ask for Stuart or Sharon at the bar. If the barmaid is a rather lovely looking Polish girl named Gosia (pron. Gosha) please be patient) and just enjoy the view !!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Tommo and Margo would like to express their thanks to the organisers for a great competition and excellent Jersey hospitality as usual.
Being more or less the only "Boat People", we only arrived back on English soil this morning at around 7.30, as the SeaCat (Hi Speed ferry back to Weymouth) was cancelled due to force seven gales. We knew in advance that we would be obliged to take the overnight chug-chug to Pompey which takes 12 hours rather than 4 and had not been looking forward to it. However that nice Mr Nick Barnett was able to reassure us that it wasn't too bad - nice and safe and secure - and he was right, margo wasn't sick once and the time passed quite quickly.
So all being well, we will be making the trip again next year.

Can I add my thanks to all the organisors and participants for once again making this the best tournament of the year (the ONLY one in my case ;D )
My only concern for next year is that we are gradually moving further away from the Dicq shack, this must be halted before we need to take a bus ride ;D
I have also expressed my wishes that MORE trophies should be supplied.... I have suggested:
1. 1st person to be knocked out of the main event 2. lowest losing score 3. 2nd best Bernie of the tournament (Mr McClusky would probably have a mare of an event and take that one) ..... I think I've got it.... 4. The most consistant underachiever.
After all guys I cant even win in the raffle :'(
Seroiusly folks, keep it up, I dont mind losing, its a GREAT tournament.

May I add my congratulations to the organisers of this competition once again, who consistently year by year, put together a highly organised event which brings together all the top players from the UK and the Channel Islands. As we approach next year's event at its fourth venue, I am sure the tournament will be just as keenly supported, and The Merton will seem a long way from the "sticky carpet" all those years ago at 'The Inn On The Park' for those who remember those days. Congratulations to all those who supported the event, winners and loosers alike. I am sure next year's event will be as hotly contested and the top players will once again try and wrestle the trophy from Trevor's grasp.
