Congratulations to Trevor on successfully defending his title, Kevin & Kevin on their victory in the pairs and to Alan Brackenredge for winning an exciting Plate Competition.
Many thanks to Sean, Graham, Nigel and all of the organisers for all of their hard work which made the Tournament run so smoothly. 8-)
We thoroughly enjoyed our first "Jersey", bought the t-shirts and will definitely be back next year.....! ;D

Good Evening All,
Many thanks to all of those that attended, we hope to see you all next year. A lot of hard work and effort goes into the tournament every year but it all makes it worthwhile when we have comments like the above in writing and verbally.
Congratulations to Kevin & Kevin for their win in the doubles, Alan for his win in the Plate and Trevor for retaining his title - an extremely difficult thing to do.

May I say well done to Kevin T and Kevin H on winning the Pairs title and to Trevor on another brilliant display of potting to retain his World Championship Singles title, also to the runners up and all the other prize winners.
As usual the tournament was run to the highest order, with the only problem being able to get two markers for each game.
I must just say though that I was very disappointed not to get the highest break with my 11,660 in a single game, as the programme that I picked up still said “The highest break in a single game by a UK player” it did not say the first two single rounds + the third and fourth double rounds.
On a lighter note, (but more painful) I don’t know why I go to Jersey, last year I ended up visiting the hospital in Jersey, this year it was when I got home.
This time it was because some big bully boy from Sussex wanted to hold me close on the dance floor, just when I was keeping myself to myself with a slow dance in the corner of the dance floor. ;)
I have now got a suspected broken rib or heavy bruising to the muscles.
Keith…..Ouch that hurts!!

Sorry to hear of your injury Milko, but if it's any consolation at all ((it probably isn't !) yours is not the only dancefloor-induced injury.
The Reaper is nursing a heavily bruised thigh muscle which he apparently picked up when dancing the Macarena. :o :o :o :o
Safest option it seems is to face tommo over the chessboard. ;) ;D ;D

Congratulations to the Jersey committee for a well organised and professionally run weekend. It will always be the highlight of the bar billiards year for me.
Let's hope the transfer to the new and more expensive venue does not put too many people off.
Sav.

Safest option it seems is to face tommo over the chessboard. ;) ;D ;D Not sure that is true Tommo, as you gave me a bit of a beating on the chess board ;) Have to agree with Keith in that I preferred high breaks being awarded over the single legs only. There is a different mentality when playing a single leg game as you have enough when you reach 8k so carrying on is at your own risk. KT had no option but to go for it for his highest break, touching up was not an option. There is no point in going for it in the single leg rounds now. That is not to take anything away from the superb competition at the weekend. Fanastically organised by Graeme, Sean and the rest of his helpers. Roll on next year! PS Hope you recover soon Keith, many have fared worse from Richard's vice like grip. ;D

Lloydy put me up to it and I had to put in 110% on his behalf to avenge him for countless thrashings. ;) :D

Many thanks to everyone for making the weekend hugely enjoyable, especially Craig my pairs partner. I'm sure Messrs. Saville and Sainsbury will be reminding me about the Ginger Tosser incident for a while. :-X

Would like to echo the previous comments, congrats to all the winners, and all those who played above expectations too. Many thanks to the organisers, for another excellently and smoothly run Jersey - we really do appreciate the efforts.
Thanks to Vinny for the comments earlier - have to go back next year after reaching the quarters - plus for the chance of more Ginger Tosser incidents. ;D

Well done to all the winners and runners up. Being my first Jersey very impressed with the organisation, the competitions going very smoothly, standard exceptionally high ( as one would expect ), took a look at next years rumoured venue and that looks top notch. Thanks to all those who guided me the right way, especially on the first evening when I lost my bearings. Look forward to next years event. A special thanks to those who put in the hard work oranising such a grand competition, I know this takes an enormous amount of effort and time.
