Sorry for the delay i have been a little busy
Game 1 Steve Ahier 1150 Roy Le Page 3270
Roy had the break and started off with just over 2k. Steve could never master the back of the table and Roy steadily plugged away and took the win.
Game 2 Dave Gallichan 3100 Darren Ogier 880
Dave the jersey captain started very nervously and was soon off the table. Darren set off with a good chance for a game agaist the break. He soon had the break but miss hit with around 1500. The game never got going until after going for a tight ball behind the 30 Darren black pegged. Dave soon got the break back and played the table out with 3k.
Game 3 Dennis Helleur 4820 Bob Chapple 5500
Bob broke off with just 450 and Dennis soon had the break back. after scoring 4820 it looked as Jersey where going to take the first game against the break. With 6mins left Bob managed to get the break back and play the table out with 5010 to keep the games with the break.
Game 4
Graham Bisson 13200 Andy Rundle 200
Graham a brilliant patient game. He would of been dissapointed not to of played the whole table out as he missed the 100 shot with the last ball.
Game 5 James Jeanne 2560 Trevor Gallienne 8830
Trevor broke off looking to reduce Jersey aggregate advantage and opened with 8670. after a couple of shots each James managed to play the rest of the table.
Game 6 Mick Eouzan 7030 Ian Champion 510
With Guernsey 11k down in aggregate we new a win against the break was our only chance. Mick felt the pressure and missed after just 450. Ian though was unable to get anything out of the back of the table and allowed Mick another chance which he dually took. Giving Jersey the aggregate win which is the closest the guernsey team have been in Jersey for some years.
Channel Island Champion
Steve Ahier 16710 Trevor Gallienne 160
Steve was given the opening break and led off with 16710. before sticking with the bar down.
Trevor opened up with a break of 11370 however chasing a little hard not realising there was another 6mins left of time. This forced him to the back of the table where he missed. With no time conceded the match.

Hi Darren not heard yet, but would guess the best six from the Jersey crowd that have entered the Open. Not much activity on Proboards from the Jersey contingent. Guess we will find out tommorow. I think you should scare them off by announcing the Guernsey team, and then perhaps they won't bother turning up....................... ;D.

Congratulations to the Guernsey team who regained the Inter-insular trophy after an extended loan dating back about 6 years. Guernsey raced into a 3-0 lead with wins by Darren Ogier, Trevor Gallienne and Mat Ogier. However despite a brave fight back, Jersey were unable to make up the aggregate points deficit in the final game, which was a tense encounter between Jersey's Alan Le Blond and Guernsey's Paul Dyer. Despite Alan's best efforts, he could not win by the amount of points needed to win the team match on scores over the six matches, as the match was tied 3-3. Guernsey's Trevor Gallienne provided the icing on the cake by claiming the Channel Island singles individual title once again, with a convincing win against Jersey's team captain Bob King.

Guernsey Win Barbilliards Inter-insular 2011
Guernsey managed to get their hands on the Barbilliard Inter-insular trophy for the first time in 6 years. Jersey had dominated the match in recent years and were strong favourites to retain the trophy again even though Guernsey were at home. The Guernsey Players though were quietly confident as they had run Jersey close the year before and the team were showing some good form. In the opening game the relatively inexperience Darren Ogier was paired against the current Jersey Individual Champion (Bob King). Although Darren had the opening break nerves were always going to take their toll in this match. Darren missed early and thought the writing was on the wall. However Bob was unable to take advantage giving Darren several chances to score points. Darren managed to stay ahead during the whole game. Although keeping the game close throughout. With only a few minutes left on the clock the first game was safe and Guernsey lead 1-0.
Next up were the 2 captains Trevor Gallienne and Dave Gallichan. The pressure on Dave was immense as he tried to keep the ever reliable and Guernsey Champion Trevor away from the table. Dave only managed to score 1300 though and allowed Trevor to get a chance at the table very early. Trevor soon had the break back and managed to play the remainder of the table time to put Guernsey 2-0 up and an aggregate lead of 10,830.
Game 3 match up was between Matt Ogier and Harry Barbet. Matt set off looking to take Guernsey to a 3-0 lead at the half way stage. Matt played a superb and precise game by scoring just under 9,000 points before sticking on his break. Both players then had a few shots each before the time ran out and Guernsey looked good at 3-0.
Going into match 4 Jersey now had to win all 3 games and catch Guernsey aggregate lead of 19,800. Steve Ahier the highly experience player he is did not let any nerves get in the way as he scored over 10,000 on his opening break. With the game now lost to Jersey Andy Rundle just needed to secure as many points as possible to and help keep the aggregate advantage as high as possible. Although Andy scored nearly 1000 points Jersy had managed to half the point’s advantage and put some pressure onto the Guernsey players.
Guernsey were now desperate for the final point to secure the victory. With this being the final game in which they held the opening break. Ian Champion who had been superb all season was up against it though as Graham Bisson of Jersey was a big threat. With this the pressure was too much as Ian break ended earlier than expected. Graham also struggled with break and only managed a small score. With the disappointment of missing his break Ian could not clear this from his head as he struggled with much of his game. Graham Bisson took control and was soon leading by more than 4,000. From here Ian realised his game might be lost but the match was not. Settling down in the closing stages he scored some vital points.
The final match was between Paul Dyer of Guernsey and Alan Le Bond of Jersey. Alan had the break and needed to not only win but to win by more than 7210. This being a score that Alan would of scored with ease many time before. However this was different with the as around 60-70 people were watching and this was to beat the old enemy. Right from the off Alan didn’t look comfortable although he did score over 3,000 on his opening break. All Paul had to do was score and remain at the table as long as possible. The game became very scrappy though as both players looked to take their team over the line. With only a few minutes left on the clock the large crowd sensed a Guernsey Victory and were not shy in showing their delight as Guernsey claimed their first victory in 6 years.
Darren Ogier 2800 Bob King 1190 Trevor Gallienne 10520 Dave Gallichan 1300 Mathew Ogier 9350 Harry Barbet 380 Andy Rundle 940 Steve Ahier 10510 Ian Champion 1280 Greame Bisson 4300 Paul Dyer 920 Alan Le Blond 4440 25810 22120

Congratulations to Jersey who convincingly won the 2013 Inter Insular 5-1 Only winner for the home team was Guernsey's Paul Dyer over Dennis Helleur.
However Dennis gained revenge in the Channel Islands Individual, beating Paul who was the Guernsey champion.
Think Guernsey won the drinking contest though ::)

Guernsey have taken a strong and experienced team over to Jersey this weekend and will be hoping for a historic third consecutive win in this hotly contested annual match between the two Island rivals. The team shows two changes from the side that won it last year. Andrew Rundle from league winners Baulkliners makes a re-appearance after being on the winning side in Jersey two years ago. Gary Naftel (Happy Landings) has earned and deserves his place in the side and has always put in a winning run in the Jersey Open. The rest of the team is made up of Trevor Gallienne - Captain (Baulkliners) Bob Chapple and Ian Champion (Happy Landings) and Roy Le Page. (Rangers). Word on the street

The excitement is mounting ahead of The Guernsey Bar Billiards League finals night to be held at Rangers Clubhouse this evening. The Islands pairs final will be contested between Trevor Gallienne and Barry Osborne who take on Bob Chapple and Ian Champion. The Island singles competition semi-finals and final will also see three of these players take part. Bob Chapple, Ian Champion and Trevor Gallienne with Terry Kenny being the fourth semi-finalist. Tonight also sees the announcement of the Guernsey Island team selection to play Jersey in the annual Inter Insular, to be held on Saturday at Les Rocquettes. Guernsey are the current holders of the trophy, having dominated for three consecutive matches against the old enemy. You have to go back 4 years to 2013, when Jersey last won this fixture claiming a surprise away 5-1 win at Les Rocquettes. Good luck to all those taking part tonight.
