Hi Guernsey
Just wondering about your venues for when we pop out to meet up with some friends. ;D
As far as I can see the public (non club venues) are the Wayside Cheer, La Fontaine and The Victoria Inn.
How am I doing so far? :-/

I better reply to this one just in case no one else is tuning in. >:( >:( La Fontaine and Wayside are the only two non-club venues. Victoria Arms does not have a table now as far as I am aware, however the Plough Inn close by did have one, but not a league team. La Fontaine is easy to find with a large car park, friendly host and hostess. However if you want a game, avoid Friday and Saturdays late afternoon/evenings, as the place is very busy and they hold meat draws. Wayside on west coast - plenty of parking, although when visiting there last week there was a servery right next to table that made playing on it impossible. The Rangers football club is open infrequently. And if you can find the West Legion club, which is "out in the sticks", especially after dark, you will have done better than many locals who have not discovered it yet. The Ex Service Club in Victoria Road would welcome you as a guest, just mention that you are a Bar Billiards player and I am sure they would sign you in. It is on the outskirts of St Peter Port on a one way street, with very little parking, if you find your way there.

Hello Guernsey
As some of you may have noticed the board Staff are trying to put together a map of all the Bar Billiard tables in the UK (and beyond?) and wonder if someone (possibly your secretary) could post or PM me a current list of venues in your league and any other non-league venues on Guernsey? Post codes would be useful too... :D
many thanks in advance Tony

Thanks for the info
Had a great few days on the island despite the fastcat doing it's best to make us regret deciding to go it was borderline as to wether it would sail...
We went to La Fontaine last Tuesday 16th and were made very welcome by the chap behind the bar and the locals that were in.
We actually went at the insistence of our Guernsey friend who wanted a knock on the table, used to play socially years ago....bit of a natural I think!
Thanks till the next time....

I would prefer it if someone contacts one of the G.B.B.A. committee members who log on occasionaly - namely Pacman or Oge. They may know of any other non league venues with tables or possibly future planned venues.

Is it true that La Fontaine will have 2 tables? Not that I am aware of. :P We do, however, have two teams playing from there.

Update on tables and teams in Guernsey.
A table was put into the Plough Inn a couple of months ago and Champ has said they are entering a team into the winter league.
A table is also in the Britannia in Trinity Square but no team this winter but may enter next year.

Good to see a table back at The Plough. Not far to travel from the Ex Service for the Layabouts for a practice or freindly. With the Brittania only a few hundred yards away that is a nice little circuit of pubs with tables to play on for any future visitors. Looking forward to the Summer League Finals night Tuesday at Rangers Club. Hope you can reverse your recent run of BAD luck Roy Le Page - see you in the final ?

The Plough Inn (Guernsey) no longer have a table in the premises. However landlord Skip would be pleased to welcome any visiting Bar Billiards players in a convenient location for a pint on the way to Town from Les Rocquettes (walking). There was a privately owned table in The Britannia which is in Trinity Square no too far away. Someone will check as to the condition of it, and confirm it is still there, as it is not a league table at present. Hoping Darren or Champ will provide an update as to any other tables in Guernsey which are not being removed for use in the Guernsey Open.
