In case Chrissie was wondering (she said in Guernsey that she checks this thread !) the Sainsburys deal of Indian meal for two for a fiver has been replaced with meal for four for a tenner (not so convenient). However a Chicken Phal from the reduced rack hit the spot tonight, and a Vindaloo has been squirrelled away in the freezer in readiness for next Friday !

..... and a Vindaloo has been squirrelled away in the freezer in readiness for next Friday ! This week (and last) a really fiery vegetarian has been found necessary to fight tommo's nasty bout of flu. No rice for tommo, just the veggie Jalfrezi and Bombay potatoes. Margo's the more traditional Chicken Jalfrezi with rice and a nice little side salad. A couple of lagers each to go with it of course. The vindaloo lives to fight another day !

Just for Chrissie, tonight's feast was..... That's a Chicken Madras on a bed of multicoloured pilau rice and onion bhajias. The Czech Pilsner is now standard issue as an accompaniment.

If we are going for curries of the ready meal type tommo I can highly recommend charlie bighams hicken tikka massala
Comes in a fancy package, half an hour in the oven, but tastes so much better than a ready meal.

Stocked in Waitrose and our nearest one is 20 miles away, went past it yesterday so popped in.
Thai red was excellent this evening and have the tikka masala for tomorrow.
A top flight one near us is www.thechaistop.co.uk/ had their green Thai a few days ago was completely different to and far better than anything I have ever bought in a supermarket.

How's about we all go for a curry after next year's EA open? The winner pays, that means I'm safe, or I guess we could all just buy our own

Excellent idea Dave, Thanks to what happened in Guernsey, I won't have to stay sober all day for worrying about driving the van next year so ruby sounds grand.
Your avatar always amuses me that a road-sign two miles up the lanes from me should be on the profile of someone over 100 miles away

Yes the current one is as per your picture, a sturdy cast sign more difficult to snap off, though it's not so bright and shiny now.
