I am sure that we can find a nice "neutral" venue for your next match, there are a couple of lovely tables at Selsey Football Club and Emsworth Sports & Social Club in West Sussex League, it can't be much more than a 120 mile round trip from you to them. ;D ;D

Hi Over 50's fans
Peter Payne beat Neil Higgins 2-0 peter got revenge for last year, thanks to a timely clearance after the bar had dropped in game 2 winning with the last ball
Tony Jenner beat Colin Southouse 2-0 Tony played steadily and played the table dead weight throughout which was required tonight, unlike colin who was a bit heavy... mostly.
tonight at the Montreal
Good luck to both in the next round

Not sure who Jony Jenner is!!!! venue agreed by all players to get the games played on one evening, Albion was missing a ball and the logistics of travelling between Brighton and Horsham was restictive in the timescale of one evening.

Hi BigTJ are you casting "the first stone"? ;D ;D Personally speaking, I do not believe that players should be allowed to play on the same table in 2 separate matches on the same evening as it should give an advantage to that player over their opponent in the second match.... unless the other player is allowed a timed practice on the table before the game starts. :P However, I do understand that with many players now playing in several Leagues, it can make it very hard to find dates to play individual competitions and, logistically, it makes sense to minimise mileage and expenditure when arranging these games and if ALL the players involved agree to playing the game at one venue I can see no objection to that.... :-/ Having said that, it wouldn't be something that I would arrange and yesterday I managed to fit in 4 different matches in 4 different competitions at 4 different venues.... :o 12.00 Sussex Captains Cup v Ros Appleby @ Dolphin in Littlehampton 14.00 Brighton Open Doubles v Kevin Hall & Ryan Berrett @ Atlas in Hove 18.00 Worthing Open Doubles v Pete Brown & Chris Cox @ Henty in Ferring 19.30 Sussex Inter League match v Worthing B @ Swan in Worthing Although it proved to be a long day, I have to say that it was really nice going to several different venues on the same day and facing the various challenges offered by each table, much nicer than just playing at one venue! :P PS. Before anybody notices.... yes, I did play the Atlas table in Worthing League on Thursday evening and I pointed this out to our Brighton Doubles opponents when we re-arranged for the match to be played there. ;D

In answer to Dave two of the games were scheduled for the Albion originally this was going to clash with re arranged inter league match, this was cancelled again, but as stated Albion was missing a ball. Dave Jones was offered the chance of 5 minute knock but declined.

Hi Gandalf, not quite sure why you would be getting cross or think that I have implied any wrong doing on your part when, based on what you and BigTJ have stated above, you have obviously done exactly as I suggested should be done in my previous post.... 8-) Personally speaking, I do not believe that players should be allowed to play on the same table in 2 separate matches on the same evening as it should give an advantage to that player over their opponent in the second match.... unless the other player is allowed a timed practice on the table before the game starts. :-/ So, nothing to get upset about is there..... ::)

Final result
Peter won the toss and put me in
Game 1
Foxy 11260 - Peter B/P I started with a 7K and after a few goes each I got another 3
Game 2
Foxy 9750 - Peter 3380
Peter didn't get much to start and put 2k up. Peter was having no luck at the top of the table and managed to get the balls back for a 6k to win the match
Thanks to Darren for preparing the table and Gandalf and Baby Guinness for scoring the games
