Plough v Cock at Star Games to be played Monday 30th January. At tonights Committee Meeting, it was decided to change the venue of this game to the Black Horse as the Star is due to have a new floor fitted and there was some doubt that the work would be finished before the match is due to be played. I understand that the Landlord of the Star has been contacted about this and the venue will be available in time for draw for the semi-finals. 8-)

Laughing Fish 2 Black Horse 3
Dave Ingram 1,230 - 3,020* Jan Bithell Bill Kerr 3,040* - 1,690 Ric Bithell Graham Sparksman 2,210 - 2,580* Dave Knight Ron Sheridan BP* - 1,560 Richard Wooton Tony Jenner 3,780 - 2,210 Richard Todd
A very hard fought and well deserved win for the Black Horse team.... great company and many thanks to Mike and the Brewers for their usual wonderful hospitality and arranging for some sausages and chips to be served up at short notice. 8-) ;D
The scores of the games do not fairly reflect the effort put in by the players in all of the matches on a table that, as soon as you got away from the break, was almost unplayable. >:(
The "selective" right hand roll that was there most of the time, but occasionally went straight caught just about everybody out and led to a lot of lost scores and missed chances to get the break back.... add in pockets that whipped balls out to leave them in some very unusual places if you kept any pace on the ball (to try to take our the roll) and stopped short if you didn't and it's probably fair to say that the table proved frustrating for all of us on the night. :'(
Once upon a time, I would have been among the first to say that this was one of the best tables in Sussex and last year I hit my top score of 19.5k here.... just 3 individual scores of over 3k tell it's own story of how the table played tonight. ::) :-X :-X :-X
Would humbly suggest that it either needs levelling correctly or somebody checks to see if the slate is either cracked or, possibly, even warped.... :o ???

Plough 4 - 1 The Cock Inn
The plough started off strong with a good solid performance from chase with 1 break of 1800 and another of 2k+ to beat Steve Smith
Darren then extended the lead with a score of 9.7k against the break. To beat Matt
Trevor with the break played a solid game and he too mastered the break to score 4k+ and beat Jan smith
Ben returned to beat jock with a score of 3.5k and satisfaction, love you, you dress wearer
Mick finished off with the 2nd break on even breaks to win against Bob Procter
Overall a good evening, nice food, and thanks to darren from the plough for cleaning the table before we got there ;)

Bridge 5 CKRBL 0
Brian 2130 Dave 1700 Alan 3360 Peter 3250 Marc 10280 Ted 360 Kev S 6860 Bob 2100 Kev H 4450 Derek 2210
The fist 2 games were crucial,Braian never getting the break back (after pegging opening break)but played better at the top of the table to go 1 nil up,Pete looked good for game 2 but Alan got the break back as the bar dropped to win by a 100.2 breaks from Marc made sure of victory for us and the Kevs both won to secure a 5 nil win. Thanks to Andy and H for their hospitality and the curry and chips.

Cheers for the post Mr. Gandalf
Yes, good result for us indeed. Table playing very nicen and some good scores recorded as you can see. Mostly pleased for young Jason who was a bag of nerves when asked to play the decider but held his nerve well. The Star lads were a good crowd as always and it was an excellent contest.
