Presidents Cup 2nd Semi Final at the Limes (t 2) 01/06/2010.
SPCC B 3 Old Oak B 2
Paul Trottman 4080 - Nev Blackman 4000
Kevin Hall 2070 - Anita Blackman 0000
Clive Thompson 6070 - Mark Fraser 1550
Sandra Race 2620 - Ray Ongley 4350
Dave Snashfold 2770 - Terry Oakley 5310
The luck definitely with South Park tonight.............. Nev made a spirited comeback in game 1 but was agonisingly left with 380 to get with three whites left and no clear shot at the 100 hole. Anita led by 1000 for most of the second game, until Kev, refusing to be beaten, pulled right up as the bar went. He had first go at the 100 and missed, and Anita felled the black going for the win. Ray and Terry showed in the last two games what might have been - had tommo not been able to keep Fritz off the table in the third.
So, an all-South Park President's Cup Final this year.

Thanks, Jim, We'll try and make it a great battle of fearlessness between you mongooses and us meerkats. ;D
Is it just me, or does the Redhill League seem to drag on for longer and longer each year ?
Can't help thinking that we would normally expect this stage to be taking place in April, with a May Presentation night.........
Instead, here we are still getting ready to play in June, with Presentation night not being until July. ::) ::)

Yes Tommo your right, presentation used to be around the FA Cup final day in May! Those were the days eh! ;) I also remember we used to have a finals night, the last one I can recall was at The Redhill British Legion which is now no longer there! Royal Earlswood was another good venue which held interleagues and county games too

I've always been in favour of a Finals Night - cum - Presentation night, rather than what we get now (= a set of separate Finals Nights at different venues, and a Presentation Night which tends to be attended only by people who have something to come). :-/

You should put this forward for the AGM Clive ;) As a general rule, Redhill are 'resistant to change'. Which is fine by me, as most of what they do seems to work with a high degree of success. Someone else will have to rock the boat ! :-/

Thanks, Jim, We'll try and make it a great battle of fearlessness between you mongooses and us meerkats. ;D Presumably the Charge of the Light Brigade a.k.a. the Presidents Cup Final between South Park CC 'A' and 'B' is to take place on home soil on Tuesday 6th July, as the only 'free' Tuesday before Presentation Night on the 9th ? Do you have anything on this, Richard ?
