My team, The Chequers have clinched the three way battle for the title which went to the last week of matches with our win over the runners-up. A most unusually tight season with unexpectedly dropped matches from all the top teams. Last year there was 62 points between the top and bottom teams, this year there was 25!! and only 14 between the second and bottom teams
Our first title for a couple of years and a new runner-up in the shape of the Nomads (formerly known the Fleur, formerly known as the Market), kiss of death on any pub they play at ;D
Div 2 went to the Royal Oak, bouncing back from relegation last year and pipping the long time leaders The Betteshanger Club in the final match.
Mike Callanan finished top of the rankings with twelve straight singles victories at the start of the season, I was second. In div 2 Mark Graves pipped Rick Cowdrey by one point.
A most interesting Winter League this season!
The League (Spring) Cup started this week.
