Hi lewes BB fans
Result card for lewes league cup match The Laughing Fish v The Star played at the fish
Tony Jenner 6170 v 3020 Phil Osbourne Dave Ingram 4330 v 3810 Colin Southouse Bill Kerr 1590 v 3480 Stewart Chant Henry Brooks 9930 v 1270 Bob Osbourne Ron Sheridan 1040 v 1410 Peter Payne
result Fish win 3-2
Nice match at the Fish tonight, the top played really well, plenty of touch ups nearing 3k from most combatants, the key game was between dave and colin with dave coming out on top following a break shot left short by colin (doh)
but nice food supplied by H and some good company so all in all a good night in the lewes league again.

Another enjoyable evening with our Eastbourne friends and a match that could easily have gone either way. 8-)

With all of the results now in, here is the latest table....
Pos Team Played Won Draw Lost For Against Points
1 Laughing Fish 9 6 0 3 29 16 29 2 Bridge 9 6 0 3 26 19 26 3 Star Eastbourne 9 5 0 4 26 19 26 4 Plough Plumpton 9 4 0 5 22 23 22 5 Black Horse 9 5 0 4 21 24 21 6 CKRBL 9 4 0 5 21 24 21 7 Brewers Arms 9 3 0 6 19 26 19 8 Cock Inn 9 3 0 6 16 29 16
With the final matches in this years competition being played next week, we could still have any one of 3 teams winning the League or finishing as runners-up. 8-)
The Laughing Fish play the Bridge in the top of the table clash and any sort of win for the Laughing Fish would see them crowned as champions.... with either the Bridge or Star Eastbourne finishing as runners-up, depending on if the Star gain a better result against Black Horse than the Bridge achieve.
If the Bridge defeat the Laughing Fish 3-2 and the Star beat the Black Horse 5-0, we would have a tie for the top position between the Fish and the Star.... with the Bridge finishing in 3rd place. ;D
If the Bridge defeat the Fish 4-1, they would be level on points with the Fish but would be champions as they have won one more game.... unless the Star beat the Black Horse 5-0 which would then see them finish 1 point ahead of both of the other teams! :o
A 4-1 win for the Bridge and a 4-1 win for the Star would see all 3 teams finish on the same number of points.... with the Bridge taking the title thanks to the extra match won and the Star and Laughing Fish equal second place. ::)
I'm not sure what will happen if we do get a tie.... we will have to cross that "bridge" if we get to it.... or maybe we (Laughing Fish) should simply beat the Bridge then we don't have to think about it any more! :P ;D ;D ;D

Nothing confusing there Dave , we win 5 nil we win the league :).Looking forward to an entertaining evening and my special surprise ;D I don't remember there ever being a 5-0 in games between our two teams.... ::) ....although I do remember the result of our last Home League Cup games against you.... :P The top of the table clash which ended up with a very surprising scoreline...... :o United Services Club Score Legs Legs Score Bridge
Dave Ingram * 12830 1 0 310 Nigel Senior & Gina Sherratt 5770 1 0 5100 & Jean Brackenridge * 18600 3 0 5410
Tony Jenner * 3250 1 0 3050 Marc Chipman & Colleen Park 4600 1 0 4480 & Alan Brackenridge * 7850 3 0 7530
Bill Kerr * 7020 1 0 4220 6770 1 0 3480 Kevin Stoner * 13790 3 0 7700
Totals 40240 9 0 20640
Some good close games with the table playing slightly "quirkier" than usual..... the whitewash didn't really do our visitors any justice as several of the games were won in the last couple of minutes of the matches, but the result does open up the title race again..... 8-) Before you say it.... yes I do also remember that you have beaten us in all 3 games that we have played so far this season! :'( ::) ;D Whatever the score, it's always a good evening with you guys though.... 8-) ;D

Another late reasult
BREWERS ARMS:3 COCK INN:2
Jason:BP Alex:1430 Jason forced to go for the 200 to win. Lynne:260 Ben:1640 Andy:1130 Huw:800 Spud:3530 Jan:1350 Paul:1890 Liz:740
Usual jolly evening with the Cock Inn. Bizarre incident with Lynne during her match. She played a shot near but hardly close to the black peg and the it just sort of... fell over. No-one present could work out why it went down. No contact with the cue and the Brewers table is not a "wobbly" table (and lynne is the least likely candidate to be able to push the table). However, balls were in motion and Lynne just shrugged her shoulders and got on with it. Most peculiar.
