Handcross Z 3, Clayton & Keymer RBL 2.
A less than convincing home win for the Champs:
Peter Edwards won the opening frame for the visitors, and tommo with no concert in London to go to tonight opened his account and levelled for the home team.
Derek Taylor resplendent in a blue Evertonian-type shirt (he'll kill me for that !) won the third 3840-3470, being on the table at the right time at the end.
Alan Downs (5630) made it 2-all with a typically solid performance.
The decider was a mini-epic between MrMike007 and Ted Stringer, Mick eventually just managing to fall over the winning line.

Perhaps you'd better not...............they were stock issue Clayton & Keymer Royal British Legion blue polo shirts and the entire team were wearing them, including Jenny Edwards. I don't think she'd appreciate being called a tart ! ;D ;D ;D

League tables again courtesy of Roy Despite having this weeks match postponed, Handcross S C stay at the top with 11 points and no lost matches. Plough move in just below them after an away win at the Victory. Rob Driver took the first leg for the home side and Steve Whyte levelled for the visitors with a last ball win in the second. Mark Webber took a low scoring third leg and another last ball grab by Trevor Appleby put the match back on level terms. Keith Potter finished a close fought match by winning the last. The Zeds took on a resurgent Kleiners team at Handcross and immediately found themselves a leg down to Peter Edwards. Clive Thompson pulled one back only to see Derek Taylor put the visitors into the lead once more. Alan Downs won comfortably in the next to level it up and Mick Holmwood took the last and the match. Windmill were at home to the Droops and skipper Steve Smith put them ahead with a win in the first leg. Three consecutive wins to the visitors for Richard Jeffrey, Andy farmer-Wright and Alan Humphrey grabbed the match and the points to move them to the top of division 1. Mike White took the home side’s second point in the fifth leg but they reside on the bottom of the premier. Watermill suffered a slide down the table after losing away to Saints. Matt Geal put the home side ahead and Kim Stenning got one back. Saints then took the next 2 and the match with wins for Peter Geal and Chris Little. The captains came head to head in the last with Stormin’ Norman Cragg winning a close encounter by just 90 points. White Horse eased themselves off the bottom of the lower division with a home win over premier strugglers Hurst Club. Wins for Dave Ingram and Ian Turner put the home side 2 up before Peter Hall stopped the charge. Colin Mansfield won the fourth leg and the match. Hurst’s skipper, Lorraine Hall, grabbed a much needed point when taking the last game. Modified to make layout easier to see
