Team Cup played at Clayton & Keymer RBL
Only joshing about going for the 'Plate', q !
Plough 1, Handcross Z 4
Mark Weller B/P, Barry Timson 2920 Nick Rees 830, MrMike007 1810 Keith Potter 1360, tommo 5660 Des Gasson B/P, Johnny Haigh 1680 Steve Whyte 2740, margo 660
'Twas a rather difficult top with a right-hand bias. Of the forum users, MrMike007 and margo both lost reasonable breaks just when getting going, whereas tommo whilst not having any luck of his own, laid claim to the share usually apportioned to absent colleague John Turner (a couple of jammy shots into the hundred).

We'll join you in the cup then... Brewers 2-3 Handcross 'A', played at Victory, Brewers were very unlucky :'(, AFW in the 3rd hit a black peg AFTER the bar had gone whilst in a winning position, he didn't use a great deal of pace but the ball flew off the back cush and Ian was there to receive the win - gratefully. It went 2-2 with me drawn last, no pressure then I thought, but the 'Walker the Stalker' shirt proved its worth and I finally managed to win a game ;D ;D
Food as usual EXCELLENT - Hot dogs (superb sausages), loaded potato skins and cheesy chips all to the usual VERY high standard.
Based on the grub supplied to us I would recommend the restaurant to anyone wanting a good meal.

Keep the Walker the Stalker, and with bonfire night coming up, you can have a ceremonial burning of the five Ferrari shirts. ;D Hope H/V/P awards you some Tart points for mentioning the food which has made me feel hungry. Well done in winning the match b.t.w. it would be nice now if our teams avoid each other and meet in the Final !

Must point out on behalf of Mr Turner that Clive played in the third game and by this time the table had warmed up and was much easier to play ;D ;D
Also no reference to the audible sh-t when a peg was knocked over, :o must point out not by Tommo :D Needs to be investigated, tart points a plenty should be awarded ;)

As Mick added later, I referred to it on the Kipling thread.

Ah but Mr Bond.............
I only laid bare the facts, I did not go out of my way to particularly request "TART POINTS A PLENTY" for the expletive verbalizer, as did your goodself, and I quote :
"Also no reference to the audible sh-t when a peg was knocked over, must point out not by Tommo Needs to be investigated, tart points a plenty should be awarded"
PREPARE TO DIE, Mr Bond !!! ;D ;D ;D

Now now Tarts stop quabbling :-* You'll all get your fair share of the Kiplings when I update ::) Mrs T for her expletives, Mr Bond for repeating them on a family forum (Granny VP looks in occasionally and sits there saying scheisse scheisse, probably met Margo at some point) Q gets points for his shirt and Tommo gets them for innuendos :P

Just managed to get back online after a week, new router now fitted as the old modem was replaced by ISP.
Hurst 3-2 Victory @ St Francis
Young Kevin H made a great 6k break in his first game 7k win (do I hear disbelief from the rest of the Mid-Sussex League, yes I believe Tarrats had levelled the St Francis top in it's new position).
Roy Wells and Robert Hall won the next 2 to put the Hurst Club 3-0 up.
Fortunately I managed to get 5.6k and was looking to pass Kev's score :D but it was not to be :(.
Charlady won the last for the Victory and therefore leaving us clear to win the Plate ;D ;D
Squabbling for tart points in MSBBL is hereby forbidden, at least until I find some way of catching up 8-)

Thanks Ian
Pity I can't remember the other scores but they were not high as the table was still a little tricky.

Courtesy of Roy Wells (again!!), I think its about time he started posting them himself ;D ;) ;D The postponed match between Greyhound and Handcross SC took place earlier this week at Keymer with the home side putting up a splendid display to put themselves clearly in the lead of the premier division. The first leg was close with Paul Goodwin winning by just 200 points. Then followed a succession of big hits for the Greyhound players with wins for Chris Watson (6450) Trevor Rees (5040) Neil Burchell (6520) and captain Peter Burchell (8290) Last week was the preliminary round of the team cup week where all losing teams go into the Plate competition. The Droops took on the A Team at the Victory and the match was only decided on the last frame. Handcross took first blood with a win for Chris Kirkham but things were quickly levelled by Richard Jeffrey in the second. Handcross again went into the lead thanks to Ian Giffen before Colin Humphrey made it 2 all. Bernie Lawrance hit big to take the last and put his team through to the next round of the cup Also through are Kleiners who played the Watermill on the newly positioned Handcross table. The Hassocks team took the first four frames and the match thanks to wins for Ted Stringer, Trevor Howes, Pete and Jenny Edwards. Norman Cragg saved a whitewash by taking the last. Greyhound took the short trip to the White Horse to play their match against the Windmill. Russell Jennings put Windmill in front by taking the first before the league leaders got into their stride and took the remaining four legs with wins for Neil and Peter Burchell, Trevor Rees and Paul Goodwin. Hurst Club and the Victory played their opening round match on another newly positioned table at St Francis. It proved to be highly popular with Kevin Hall who hit the highest away break of the season (6130) on his way to winning the first. Lady Luck guided Roy Wells’ cue in the next with some highly improbable shots and Hurst found themselves 2 up. This went to 3 and the match when Robert Hall took the third. Sparky hit big to take the next and Ros won a close fought captains match to make the score respectable. The Zeds won handsomely at the Clayton Legion in their match against the Plough. Barry Timson and Mick Holmwood won the first 2 legs. Clive Thompson hit big to take the third. Jonny Haigh made certain by winning the fourth before Steve Whyte saved the brush with a consolation win in the last. Dave Ingram hit the highest away score of the season (8840) at the Greyhound in White Horse’s match against St Francis. Mick Joplin had hit big to put Saints in front before Dave made it 1 all. Matt Geal put Saints back in front only to see John Ruffle level it up for White Horse. The last leg seems to have been a pretty tight affair before Peter Geal ran out the winner and put Saints through.
