Please cast your votes. No prizes for the winner, but just a test of the power of your crystal ball !

If you believe in omens, then it has to be Italy. Winners of the World Cup in 1982 and 2006, both times when similarly in the shadow of a match-fixing scandal. :-/

My choice would have to be Spain and England won't even get out of their group but hope I'm wrong on that.

I have to say I've been a bit disappointed with the quality of the games so far, no team has fired my imagination.
If we can survive the group stage, a Rooney-inspired England must have as good a chance as any. :-/

Germany for me. Although they are a team who do bottle it as we have seen of late i cant see them struggling too much up until the semis where i think theyll be too much for whoever they play. I think theyll get holland and beat them 2-0 in the final.

I don't think that Spain are quite as good as they were a couple of years ago.... but I haven't seen anybody better than them yet so they get my vote. ;)

England will beat Sweden No worries. Good call. For once England had a spark. Gone are the tired old routines, though I thought they could have used the wings better. And they kept battling even when 2-1 down. All our goals were gems. Encouraging.

Sweden didn't look like winning. They played a flatpack 4 and they have no ikea about defending

......and the Czechs having the last laugh over the Russians after losing heavily to them (1-4 in the first match). What a strange game football can be, with not always the best team winning. What odds now for Greece to turn over Germany next round ? ;D

Just spent an enjoyable evening watching the game on a big screen set up in the beer garden of the Mill House. Great atmosphere, free barbecue, three pints, banter with the locals and quick dash to the bus stop afterwards.
Now bring on Italy, tommo's original tip to win. Won't mind if my tip goes belly up on this occasion ! ;D

So will it be PIGS (Portugal,Italy,Germany,Spain) or PEGS (Portugal,England,Germany,Spain) ? ;D So it's PIGS......England lose on penalies.......deja vu or what ? After they missed first. Question - why didn't Carroll and Walcott take penalties ? >:(
