Any tradesmen out there that know the best way to get rid of silicon filler? I am refurbing a table that some kind soul has used it to fix the pockets in place. :-/ I have some Polycell silicon remover but is there a better way as it is a bit messy....
Failing that anyone know where i can get some new (proper) pockets?
thanks Tony

Failing that anyone know where i can get some new (proper) pockets? thanks Tony Hi Tony, Mercury Leisure's website quotes £25 for a set of 9 - in white ! However, these look better value, but are the red plastic (Sav will say 'yuk'): www.mastersgames.com/cat/pub/bar-billiards-spares.htmFor the nice bakelite ones, I've only known them come up on eBay once in a while, but can't see any on there at present. regards, tommo

Bakelite Clive?? that's the old cups that Jersey use, almost easydrop.
I have not looked for a source of cups since BBLtd expired, Masters would be a decent bet though their description of their red cups is poor, they should never be glued in!! Sanding them down to size is a pain and makes it more difficult to insert them and pull the cloth tight with them.
But yes I have never liked the light red 'pink' cups often found on Sams tables. The best ones have always been the dark red ones.

Very short so they would NEED to be glued in rather than back-filled as there would be no space to back-fill them. I know 'cos I bought a set as back up but can't really see myself using them... The only answer I guess, apart from finding where BBL's stocks went, is to get them made. We do have a precision engineer playing in Witney so I will enquire how easy it would be - once we have found the right plastic etc.. cheers Tony

Further to this, I painted some silicone remover on the sealant and left them for an hour. The pockets then tapped as normal with the rings clean and reusable. Result!

And while I'm here, this is a comparison of the "Bar Billiard rings" available from Masters and Peradon at the moment compared to the standard size ones that we are used to on the mainland. The Masters ones are on the left in both cases and are totally unusable for our game.....too easy ::) ;D PS Enlarge the image.... Attachments:
