Nice work, Sparky. Draw only performed last night, and being displayed on Forum has enabled me to move quick - as JT will soon be off on three weeks' holiday. (He's not nicknamed Johnny Holliday for nothing, you know. ;) )

I'm due to play Mike White tonight, 7.45pm at the Watermill. This is to conclude play by the time the Thursday night pub quiz starts (9pm). Afterwards was going to look in at the Windmill to see how Sparky and Jock got on.
However it might not be happening as apparently Mike has been called away on business and I am awaiting a phonecall.
I would rather play the game than claim it, and would support Mike if he applied for an extension beyond Saturday. But with a full diary up until Easter, the earliest I can play is Thursday 12th April.

After a strange way of playing a seniors match I mangaged to overcome Sparky 3 - 2. We played 2 at Handcross on Monday 1-1 Then 2 at the Victory 2 - 2 Then played Horsham League match @handcross lost 5 - 0 Then played decider which I won. Dont think it helped Sparky playing last then playing me straight after. Unlucky Sparky you played well on both tables which were tricky & caught both of us out. :) :)

It certainly was strange and I hope it won't be such a tight schedule in future years.
Congratulations Ian and good luck for the rest of the competition and are you sure your old enough for the Seniors ;D ;D ;D

Last night myself and mum played Chris Nikolaj and Ade White in the open doubles on the Windmill top and won 2 straight. Which means we are now due to play Sparky and Ros in the next round.
I also know that Jock beat Sparky 2-1 last night as the table was double booked. Jock could have won 2 straight but had a black peg after being 3k up in the second leg.

Well done Reaper and Lozza.
Unlucky Sparky and well done Jock. Have visions of Sparky packed off in waiting van arranged by Jock and dumped in middle of Wivelsfield Common. Probably feeling a bit sheepish this morning. ;)
It's okay Sparky, I'm sure you'll get soon have the opportunity for a bit of return p!$$taking. ;D

And..............! ...............in the open doubles Sir Jock o The strap V Trevor Rees (hope the spelling is right) Sir Jock 2 Trevor Rees 0 A good match from my own point o view, with me winning the toss in the first (no illicit comments please) I chose to lead off and promptly 4 balled my opening break, giving Trev the break back I thought bollocks!!!!! large ones there goes game one. But alas poor Trev the billiard gods were shining down upon me and he only notched up 600. we both plinked around for a bit and I eventually won the break back with the god touched 'miricle' shot clearing all four balls in one shot and carrying on to rack up 6800. 1-0 to me. Trev broke of in the second and again only managed 600, a very scrappy bits 'n' pieces game really, with no one really making an impact until I nicked the break back and slipped in 2000+ at the end to finish the Trevminator off! Bad luck Trev, good luck in the seniors. next installment sir Jock o the Strap takes on Graham 'sparky' sparksman YeeeeeeeHaaaaaaa!

Yeah and how lucky were you, van man could'nt make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
a tough draw on a tough and tricky break table, and yes I did black peg a 3k lead in the second, but shit happens and then you hit a peg, sparky did return the favour in the thirdd though, and we were pretty even steven at that point, I had a lot o luck, billiard god, still shining on me it seems!!!!

No wrong Ian Sparky/Ros defending champions of Open doubles to play BBR/Lorri but Sparky/Pam to play Pete/Jenny tonight in Mixed doubles (my first entry in mixed )

Please note that John and I got through in the Open Doubles last night as per my late night posting on "Flukiest Shot" thread (on General Board).
Match was played on the Hurst, and Lorri was scoring and witnessed the fluke first-hand. :-[
We were playing Peter Burchell and Paul Goodwin of the newly-crowned Champions Greyhound.
We managed to scramble the first one against the break, I was on the table when the bar went and looked down at the six whites in the tray which was all I needed from the break shot.
We were hammered in the second, when I didn't go away with enough and Paul got a fine 4k break which killed the frame stone dead.
And then the deciding leg was won as already reported. The great Gaffer in the sky certainly shone on me last night. :)

For attention of Sparky : Margo and I got through 2-0 tonight against Rodney and Lynne Storr who played very well and ran us close in both games. And please put me through in the Singles.
And I bumped into Keith Potter tonight, who said that he and Geoff had just won their doubles in an unusually packed Handcross Club.

lost 2 straight to mr Edwards last night in a very crowded Greyhound standing room only. lost the toss & was put on first not enough from the break which saw Pete get the break back & catch up & go 2.5k in front. He then gave me a 3 k target in leg 2 after a while got break back & was chasing & almost caught up & underhit a straight 50 came off lost by 300 DAMM. Well played Pete & good luck in next round. Ian.
