So, the closing ceremony of this momentous Olympics is due soon, and the country gets back to normal tomorrow......
Which of these - all single winners of gold medals - in your view provided the best moments ?
You may choose up to four. This is Part A, there will be a Part B where you can choose out of another 8.
Apologies to Peter Wilson (gold, shooting) as there isn't room but you can nominate or commend others separately.

The games belonged to Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis for me. I feel very sorry for Victoria Pendleton, so near to 3 golds and yet so far. Future looks bright for our cyclists, and a thumbs up to Chris Boardman who started it all off with gold back in 1992.

I have placed my votes but also a mention should go to our first medal winner Lizzie Aermistead (spelling) who got a well deserved silver in the Ladies road cycling.

Yes indeed, Lizzie set us on the way.
Another silver medal heroine for me was judo girl Gemma Gibbons, ranked 42nd in the world before the games. :o
