Afternoon all,
I thought itd be a fun idea to start a thread about the forthcoming season and what not as well as discuss transfer rumours and whos doing well in which league. I havent a clue how well itll work but we never know. Also you may get bragging rights over your fellow forum users depending on how your team does so theres some incentive :p ;)
Hopefully this should be a laugh :D

Van Persie signs for United. Yup the Bosman ruling meant that a club's investment in a player and contracts stand for nothing. Fabregas, Nasri, Van Persie in the last year and previously Adeubayor have effectively blackmailed their way out of a contract with the Gooners in my opinion.

I see Shrek dropping off of RVP, doing his clever play and Robin finishing a lot more than Wayne, but then you have Rooney still #1 pick for penalties and other set pieces etc. so it just depends on how quickly Sir Alex can find a formation that links up well with both strikers and how quickly he can adapt to the new club.

I am mighty gutted about rvp leaving my beloved arsenal particularly to (god help us) man utd. I think we were wise enough to cash in on him now though and now we need to invest in new blood, m'vila from stade rennes would be sick. I reckon rvp will flop at united though, hes at an age where he can come out his peak so maybe we were wise :)
Up the gooners :D

Its all about Monday night , that's when the real football starts. Todays games I reckon Arsenal will draw with Sunderland and Liverpool to lose to West brom. I think they're playing today.

I was having this discussion with chris plant about day one, he reckons sunderland to win, never happening, 3-0 to the real london club ;) and the rivals to draw with newcastle with the players calling for AVB's head ;) united to beat everton monday with their latest signing to go off injured :p

Liverpool i think will be happy to draw away at west brom, their team is a bit mediocre with a weak bench, their line up only has a few decent names for me

Away from all the hype, there were good starts for AFC Wimbledon (1-0 winners over Chesterfield) and Oxford United (2-0 away at Bristol Rovers). 8-) 8-)

Terrible. Tevez's goal was offside, a horrible missed penalty and left it right till the end again. Sooner or later they must be rumbled.
Looking forward to the real start of the season tomorrow, as Lewis says.

I think he will struggle in playing second fiddle to rooney and even the likes of nani, kagawa etc. Rooney is the shirt seller but when rvp was with us, he had to carry the team and was the shirt seller in jack wilsheres lengthy absence! Its a completely new role for him and it may be a shock to the system. Kind of like when we still had henry and fabregas even though he was still very good, he thrived more off the lime light i think, i dont believe he will get ghat treatment at united, at least not to the extent of when we had him.
