An extremely courageous and shy man has left us.
How many of us remember staying up into the early hours of the morning to watch the famous first walk on the moon by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in those extremely grainy pictures. Those first words FROM the moon (but not actually the first ;).Does anyone actually know the first?) spoken and his first words and steps ON the moon.
Neil Armstrong will go down in history not only as the first man to step foot on the moon but also upon another world.
R.I.P.

Neil Armstrong was a good man - should have been awarded an Oscar. You all should read Moon Landing Conspiracy Theories on Wikepedia.
Amongst other overwhelming evidence that the landings were filmed in a dessert with a giant spotlight causing the shadows, the following facts are known.
All the manned lunar landings were carried out under the Presidency of Richard Nixon (enough said)
The flag was shown to be static and not fluttering, which was another faked effect.
No stars in the sky - very strange.
No blast craters or disturbance of moons surface caused by the landing, in the area of the so called landing.
Given the distance between the earth and the moon, there would have been more than a two second delay between communications.
I could go on, but finding out the real truth is not rocket science ::) ::) ::)

Very interesting reply, I gather you are not a believer in any of the Moon landings then, Stormin? I could answer all your queries(?) that you have quoted but I doubt if that would be helpful to either side of the argument regarding the actual Moon landings.
There is overwhelming evidence that the landings actually took place and each of your arguments has actually been refuted (I think that's the word. My grammar is not the best. ;D) by many very distinguished scientist using the most modern equipment available today.
As far as I am concerned the landings actually took place on the Moon and not in some desert. You are entitled to your opinion Stormin but until I'm proved wrong I will go on believing they did so.
As for Nixon, well I agree, the less said.

Don't worry Dave, Stormin' also denies the existence of the tooth fairy. ::)
It looked pretty real to me at the time, Armstrong and Aldrin able to take large jumps up and down on the moon's surface thanks to the gravity being a sixth that of the Earth.
And no stars in the sky is explained by the earth being nearly 'full' at the time of the landing: from our standpoint on earth, the stars and planets are brighter when it's a new moon, and fade considerably when it's full moon.
The mystery remains how it has taken so long (1969 till 2012) to make the next quantum leap, the discovery of the 'god particle' in the Hadron Collider, which could hold the key to inter-stellar travel.
R.I.P. Neil Armstrong. 8-)

Most Americans do not believe in the moon landings. About 20% are brave enough to admit it. The remaining 80% are too proud and embarrassed to admit that it was staged.
Even Neil Armstrong kept quiet on the subject and rarely discussed what should have been a ticket to becoming President in his own right.

I admit I may have been wrong. I have just had a text from Elvis saying that his mate Neil did visit the Moon.

It's strange that the Russians (in direct competition with the Americans in the Space Race) never called 'foul'. ::)
If it was a true achievement (and I am only 95% convinced it was) then it was an amazing one, far ahead of Arthur C.Clarke's prediction of the year 2000 for the first moon landing.
What of the other 5 moonwalks since (19/11/69, 5/2/71, 31/7/71, 21/4/72 and 11/12/72) ? Were they all hoaxes too ?
Interesting that Edgar Mitchell (5/2/71 moonwalk) is a believer in UFOs and claims that US officials have dissected bodies of aliens but conspire to keep it secret.......X files stuff.......now that would make for an interesting discussion! 8-)
