Best of luck to all players and teams. By all means post stories(true ones), scores and comments here. But please do not forget to send score cards direct to Dave Jones and Steve Mariner(Sussex web site)

Littlehampton 1 Worthing A 6
Enjoyable evening at the Locomotive, but not a good start for the promoted side. Table played quite well but the only big aggregate score was from Roger & KTs game.
Barry Holt took a scrappy opener for Littlehampton, then wins for Roger Taylor,Martin Smith,Tony Lewis,Alan Messer,Neil Higgins & Mal Spier killing off the home team.
Well done Worthing

dave please can you respond to my post from a few days ago, I asked if Collin Robbins had called you ? He didn't even call me ! Turned up at the Oak expecting the match, sat there like a lemon until half past eight until the penny dropped it had been cancelled. Still I was able to watch a cut-throat game of cribbage, and the Crawley v Oxford Utd football game on Sky TV.

Hi Dave, Please excuse the grovelling nature of this message. :-[ I have made contact with Colin Robbins to find out WTF is going on. His side of it is that the fixtures only came out recently and he hasn't yet had a chance to avail himself of a copy. Consequently he wasn't aware that there was even a new Interleague Secretary. I have of course now clued him in. Due to the clash of the first weekend of fixtures with the Berks Open, he assumed that it would be taken as read that the match could be delayed, especially as four of his team had intimated their non-availability. He has recently lost his job through redundancy and just started a new one and it has been a trying time. He did not have time in the short notice to ring round everyone in his own team, but the message was passed on by word of mouth and as a new player I got missed (turned up at the empty pub as stated earlier). He is mortified at getting off on the wrong foot and will be ringing you as soon as possible once he's had a time to scrutinise a fixture list (there's one pinned up in the Old Oak). I've told him he's in serious trouble and will probably have to do some grovelling for himself, but at least he contacted Richard and gave the Brighton team a reasonable amount of notice for the postponement.

Hi Tommo / Dave
Just to comment re the cancelation of the first game, Brighton A have absoloutely no problem in playing the match at a future date and time, these things happen.
Dave can you confirm it is ok to play at a later date.
Thanks
p.s hope things are going ok for Colin

Thanks Richard,
Colin will be there on Sunday at Reading, so an opportunity there to have a word about it.
Dave, I've promised to pass on your number to Colin on Sunday in case he hasn't found it by then and he'll be giving you a ring.

The postponement is fine by me.
Unfortunately I have just been given a set of fixtures to publish.
Hope we can organise it better next year, to avoid clashes with other tournaments etc.
Please advise the date on this forum.
Thanks

Tough luck, that, Ian. It's R.Plaw by the way, and I take it it was Keith Wilkinson rather than his twin Kenny (both are capable of such a score, of course). Richard and Keith by the way deserve honorable mention on a separate thread for that. Both tarts of the highest order ! ;)

True Alan. Horsham came from 3-1 down to win 4-3.
It wasn't you that got murdered then!

Don't ask me, Richard ! I don't know if I'm even wanted for this Sunday against Horsham. ::) But I'll turn up anyway, and give Robbo a nudge then.
As far as I know, Geoff Jukes is the only already-established Redhill A player who uses this Forum.

Please can someone from Redhill A call me to re arrange the match. thanks Richard We will probably have trouble finding a mutually-convenient date this side of the World Championships, but Robbo will be ringing you within the next couple of days, Richard, if he hasn't done so already.

We will probably have trouble finding a mutually-convenient date this side of the World Championships, but Robbo will be ringing you within the next couple of days, Richard, if he hasn't done so already. Robbo said last night he has agreed a couple of possible dates with Steve Mariner (yet another go-between !) so somebody will be in touch with you soon. Thanks for your patience !
