Well done to Worthing B, but I must comment on Jean's performance:

Five wins out of 5 at an average of 8,256........absolutely exceptional.

Congratulations to Mid-Sussex A who won the Division 2 One Day Inter League Competition at the Roffey Club today, winning all 4 of their matches and finishing on 33.5 points. 8-) Billingshurst finished as runners-up with 30 points, with Lewes in third place with 29 and Horsham (25.5) and Hastings (22) not far behind. ;) Bob Osborne (Hastings) topped the individual rankings with 7 wins out of 8, while Micky Fairs, Steve Eely (both Billingshurst), Derek Taylor (Mid-Sussex), Lee Cable (Horsham) and Chase Newman (Lewes) all won 6 games. Bob Hall (Mid-Sussex) hit the highest score of the day with 11,640, Darren Newnham (Mid-Sussex) and Dave Howlett (Horsham) gave the Admin Desk a headache by managing a draw.... ::) Tommo (Horsham) managed to win a game with a score of just 300.... :o ....which may be the lowest winning score ever in the One Day Competitions after his unfortunate opponent (Richard Jeffrey of Mid-Sussex) managed to lose what would have been the highest score of the day when he pegged well over 11k in their game. :'( The results are now on the Sussex Website.... www.sussexbarbilliards.com/Sussex/1%20day%20cups/2012/Division%202%202012.htmI would like to give particular thanks to Kevin Hall for his help in setting up the tables over the weekend, Colleen for helping to clean and iron the tables and her assistance on the Admin Desk and Bill Kerr for his excellent work in running the raffle which raised over £180 over the 2 days.... Bill and Kevin both came up specially to the Roffey Club today although neither of them were actually playing in the competitions. Their assistance and help is greatly appreciated. ;D Many thanks to Jean and Alan for their assistance yesterday.... and for trusting me to run the competition today on my own.... :-/ .... to Colin Robbins for his usual superb food, the Roffey Club for their hospitality over the weekend. 8-) Finally, a big THANK YOU to all of the players today who helped to move the tables after the competition had finished.... many hands made light work of the job and I don't think that the tables have ever been put away that quickly before! :o ;D ;D

Congratulations to Mid-Sussex A on their win and promotion, and well done also to runners-up Billingshurst.
It was a memorable day and good to see Hastings making a return although as the draw turned out they had to sit out the first session so needn't really have arrived so early ! :-/
Well done to Dave Ingram who did a first-class job in co-ordinating this event. And very competent on the 'mike' - the schedule ran like clockwork. Able assistance from Colleen and Bill Kerr, also from Kev Hall earlier in setting up the tables. And usual thanks to Robbo (and pretty assistant) for the excellent good-value grub.
Sussex is in good hands and every indication is that next weekend should be an equal success ! 8-)

Congratulations to Brighton Ladies who won the Sussex Ladies One Day Inter League Cup at the Roffey Club in Horsham.... their 3rd consecutive victory in the competition. 8-) Brighton Ladies won all 4 of their matches to finish on 30 points, with Mid-Sussex finishing as runners-up ahead of Redhill A thanks to winning one more match after both teams finished level on 24 points. Redhill B were third with Worthing Ladies occupying the final position this year. Jean Brackenridge continued her good run of form winning 7 legs out of 8 and topping the averages with 5,139 and hitting the highest score of the day (10,100), with Bella Stoner and Ros Appleby also both winning 7 out of 8. Sandra Race, Denise Wills and Debz Pearse all won 6 games out of 8. All of the scores and results are now on the Sussex Website.... www.sussexbarbilliards.com/Sussex/1%20day%20cups/2012/Ladies%202012.htmMany thanks to Graham Sparksman who set up the tables (and John Miller and Micky Fairs who helped move them into position), Bill Kerr for once again raising plenty of money in the Raffle, Colin Robbins for the usual selection of great food and Jean for all her help and advice on the Admin Desk. 8-) As always, the Ladies Day was a terrific event.... ;D ;D

Congratulations to Brighton A on winning the Mens' flagship event by a narrow margin over Worthing A. Redhill were third, Tunbridge Wells fourth, Littlehampton fifth and Eastbourne sixth.
Will leave others to give the usual credits but a particular well done to Jean and Sandra on the Admin Desk.
A good event from a spectator's point of view.
