Yeah Tommo, really tight now, 13-13 with the last two matches all square...

I think that was sport at its absolute best - just a shame that doing so well meant that Nige didn't give his full attention to the Brighton League fixtures ;) Poulter may never win a major but he sure is a Ryder Cup champion.
Loved the booing for Alex Salmond at the end 8-)

Well, I stayed up until 1am to watch the highlights and was on the edge of my seat. And I love it when a plan comes together.
Captain Olazabal sent out his big guns early: Luke Donald, Ian Poulter, Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose. Rose was on fire, sinking several amazing birdie putts, and I have never before seen Mickelson look so bemused, helpless and disconsolate.
With those points safely in the bag, some heroes were needed in the bottom half and many stood at all-square in their matches. Westwood and Garcia turned their matches round (with some help from their opponents bottling it) and Martin Kaymer sunk an 8ft putt to gain our 14th point meaning the Ryder Cup was retained. Tiger Woods finally missed a short putt and conceded to make it 14.5-13.5.
Cue the wild celebrations. Another piece of 2012 sporting magic. 8-)

Tell ya what, i dont follow golf by any stretch but the ryder cup really does hold my interest, i cant believe that happened, especially with that incredible crop of players that the US have. I enjoyed seeing kaymers comments post match, sayibg how he loved the feeling of being in the pressure situation of needing a win to seal it!! Id love to speak to this guy about handling pressure and manging it in my sporting activities :)
