A friend of mine and his band were playing a gig in Eernegem, Belgium and at the venue they found this interesting looking game. They didn't know what it was called though. Any ideas? Cheers, Richard Attachments:

Very interesting........
Yet another way the game has developed elsewhere in Europe. We have Italian 5-Pin and Belgian Jeu de Fer displayed elsewhere on this Board. I would say this has more in common with the Danish Pin Billiards that you can see Prince Charles playing - the pins being ranged across the centre of the table.

Here's a YouTube video of the game where it's called FLEMISH BILLIARDS unsurprisingly...

That's the answer then.......Flemish Billiards.
Like the beginning of the clip: brings a new meaning to 'playing the opponent's balls'. ;D

Excellent. Thank you very much for the info and links.
It's another game I'll add to my 'To Play' list!

Bumper Pool is the normal name for this game which is a bit like football with cues, the object being to get all your balls down the opposition's 'goal' before he does the same to you.

I just spotted one of these "Bumper Pool" tables in the foreground of a Lomma Minigolf postcard I bought two years ago!!!
Out of interest, has Bar Billiards ever been depicted on a Postcard?

Out of interest, has Bar Billiards ever been depicted on a Postcard? We have a thread going called "Old Bar Billiards Pictures" under "It's Bar Billiards Jim But Not As We Know It" which people are invited to add to. As regards postcards, check out this website: www.cardmine.co.ukI was once sent a Christmas card with a print of cats playing bar billiards by an artist called Rosa (?) and remember finding it on here, but that was then and this is now !
