AGM is upon us so you need to send to me any PROPOSALS no later than SUNDAY 25TH NOVEMBER Points to add to your agenda to receive discussion (which I'm sure you have in hand, Dave): 1. Ratification of new British National Off-the-Spot Open as a Ranking Event; (Proposed separately, seconded and submitted by Pete Sainsbury.) 2. Clarification of the qualifying criteria for players in the National Team Championships. (Leaving to Dave)(There has been much Forum discussion on both these topics which perhaps should be re-visited prior to the meeting.) Regards, tommo

I propose that East Anglian bar billiards (comprising the Norwich and the Sudbury 4-pin leagues) receives free Affiliation to the A.E.B.B.A. as associate members.
Clive Thompson (seconded by Lorin Clough)
(Amendments to the exact wording welcomed - Wellingborough could be included as a 4-pin league - or could bind itself to Northants as an already fully-affiliated County).

Trawling through this looking for Mixed Pairs rules that do not exist.
May I add
The closing date for proposals, as per the rule book, is 21 days prior to the meeting and is this Sunday, 18th November.
Nothing can be changed at the AGM without a formal proposal, duly seconded, sent to the Secretary.
All proposal should be notified to County Secretaries (if the AEBBA secretary has been told who they are!). In addition, publishing on this forum would be a good idea.
If anything is 'discussed' at the AGM without a formal proposal having been duly submitted, nothing can be changed until the following AGM.
GET YOUR PROPOSALS IN!! and better still ATTEND

Please would someone be kind enough to supply me with all the details with regards to the AEBBA AGM this year, in particular the venue, the start time, the postal address to send proposals too. Everything really.
Thanks in advance.

Last day today, so are there any other proposals that we should know about that are not on this thread ?
Not forgetting that ALL proposals should be sent to the County Secretaries then on to Association Secretaries so they can be discussed at local level.

Would have been sensible to have a proposal to put the break order for the Open and Mixed Pairs in the rule book, but as no-one has answered my request for clarification on another thread I guess no one's bothered until it goes wrong.
Grand Prix dress code?

I appreciate that it is far too late to make a proposal at this stage before the AGM. :'(
However, having recently been going through the AEBBA Rules (to update the Sussex County Rules) I noticed that there does not appear to be anything in the AEBBA Rules covering the order of play for Doubles Games or stating that Lady players should take the break (first shots) in the Mixed Pairs? :-/
I know that Open Doubles matches over 2 legs are pretty simple (A-B-C-D then D-C-B-A) and it has always been accepted that the ladies play the first shots in both legs of the Mixed Pairs, but the games that are played over 4 legs in the Bournemouth Pairs always seem to cause some confusion about the order of play.... :-/
Are these things that should be included in the Rules? If so, can something be included within the Rules (for the sake of "guidance") this year with a view to getting these ratified at the 2013 AGM if it is too late to do that for the AGM this year?
Sorry to leave this so late, but other things that have cropped up elsewhere have made me notice this.... ;D
On a final note, unfortunately Colleen & I will be unable to attend the AGM this year so perhaps somebody could pass our apologies on at the meeting.... it looks like it could be an interesting one! 8-)
Hope you all enjoy your lunch.... ;D

I have just noticed this post by Sav which shows that I am not the first person to think of this! ;D If only I had read it sooner then it could have been included this year.... :-[ PS. Grand Prix Dress Code.... shorts and t-shirts please!! ::) ;D

Hi Dave
Lorin Clough very kindly ( well dumped in it to be honest, as he took an IPAD, not taking mine ever !!!) took minutes.
These would have to go to Dave Alder to be done for presentation so I would not with Xmas near expect anything before Xmas.
Being fair to Dave Alder.

Chris Thanks for your reply Chrissie and fully understand that these things take time. 8-) The main reason that I asked was that I was hoping to get the Ranking Committee working on the points to be awarded for the new Off-the-Spot competition (assuming that was agreed?) which would enable us to have everything in place before the start of the season. ;D
