Dun Horse 0, Mill House 5
Scott Hope 2090, Barry T 3340 Dunplaying 4450, Alan D 6510 (5k break) Colin Bolton 1870, Mr Mike 8140 (6k break) 'Pops'Hope 2630, Graham D 7710 (6k break) Grant Hope 2570, tommo 5030
The home team actually played very well, with both Dave and Grant looking well-placed to win at one stage. Tommo would settle for being his side's fourth-highest scorer with 5k every week ! Good selection of sandwiches, the mature cheddar and pickle being particularly popular.

Tommo would settle for being his side's fourth-highest scorer with 5k every week ! Good selection of sandwiches, the mature cheddar and pickle being particularly popular. Game 1: Scott led most of the way in a close game, Barry pulled ahead in the closing stages. Game 2: Slow start from Alan let Dave in for 3k5 before responding with 5k+. Game 3: Mr Mike kicked off with 6k+ Game 4: 1k each before SuperG stepped up a gear with 6k+. Game 5: tommo started with about 1800 and kept adding. A very pleasant evening (despite the result ::)) good to see some old faces again, rounded off with some rather tasty sandwiches. (Preferred the beef & horseradish myself :P)

Stout House A 0, Blue Ship Nomads 5
Oops! A thorough drubbing by the most charming team in the league! Scores to follow but it really wasn't our best performance!!
Thanks to the Nomads though for a great evening, good to see you all again.

Three Bees 3 Springbok Club 2
J Tudhope 4110 B Hicks 1910
Bill started well enough with the break racked up a decent score then left split short, John hit back with a near equal score, before doing the same. Then a close game with both players struggling with the break. John posted a decent score at the end to take the game.
N Tomsett 1280 T Goacher 1970
An odd game with both players deserving more from the table. I took an early lead and stayed there, no massive breaks, but sensible potting using the red ball (see I am learning ::) ). Nigel was ever so unlucky not to get the break, which really helped me out.
S Eely 3240 G Jarrett 1460
Graham started steady, with Steve slow off the blocks. However, Steve's experience came through and he strung together a couple of breaks of 1K, whereby poor Graham was a little off form.
L Lennon 1620 G Marshall 2260
Gary struggled with the break, but Lynn did not take advantage, a game of two fortunes, with Gary having a bit more luck and putting together some modest, but helpful breaks. As much as Lynn tried she simply could not get the break back.
M Lennon 1550 R Parsons 1330
The closest and most entertaining game to watch, with Ron taking an early lead. Mick was struggling a bit and with the pressure of being behind in the deciding leg was proving a bit too much. Ron on the other hand was relishing the moment, pulling off some of the jammiest shots ever seen. With the bar down and one ball to go, Mick nosed in front needing only the 100 to secure the win, he missed!! Ron needed the 200 and he missed and so it went on until eventually Mick hit the spot.
A great night, in good company. Table was a bit quirky for both sets of players, but no complaints. Great grub and decent beer.

Thanks to the Nomads though for a great evening, good to see you all again. Pete Sent from my iPhone using ProBoards Pete Don't overdue the "Charming" bit, I had to drive three of them home and all I heard at least once every mile was "The table was far better then we expected". Here is my summary of the match Most players when they first find the "Quirky" fifty pocket do the decent thing and either miss the ball or miss the shot. Anyway "Break Over" But all of the Nomads played it differently, by accident they still managed to hit the ball, although not where they intended, and even more annoyingly despite originally going for a straight shot into the pocket, they all managed to pot the "Cue" ball into the fifty pocket off the side cushion So Breaks continued on and on Best team we have played so far JT

Cheers Clive, it was just the public humiliation we couldn't take ;) Look at it this way, four teams lost badly at home, whereas Springbok managed 2 points away.........must count as a good week! :D
