Fixtures for Monday 26th November, the first week of the League Cup Format....
Black Horse 4 Cock Inn 1 Laughing Fish 2 Brewers Arms 3 Plough 2 Bridge 3 Star Eastbourne 4 CKRBL 1
A brief reminder of the Rules for the League Cup this year...
The league cup competition this season will be "Off-the-spot" with no capping.
Matches will consist of 5 single games, as in normal league matches, with opponents drawn randomly. The away team will have the break in games 1, 3 and 5. All shots must be played with the cue ball on the spot.
All other playing rules will be as for normal league games.
The competition will be decided on the results of 10 matches - one point per game won, as in the league competition. For the first segment of the competition, teams will play each of the other teams, either home or away (7 games). When this segment is complete, the top 4 in the table will play each other (3 games); and similarly with the bottom 4. These games will be at the reverse venue, as compared with the earlier meeting.

Hi Lewes BB Fans
The Star v CKRBL
Phil Osbourne 3810 v 2690 Ted Stringer Bob Osbourne 5820 v 0 Pete Edwards Tony Smith 1840 v 1660 Dilly Williamson Colin Southouse 4290 v 1300 Derek Taylor Peter Payne 1780 v 2470 Jenny Edwards
Result The Star win 4-1
Phil was 2k behind for half the match but he stayed focused and recovered good ground with a few nice breaks to end up 1k ahead at the bar Bob continued his good form on a tricky table after a few sticky moments on the 50 he played a game winning 2.5k playing on the same 50 hole, nice to watch if you're on the winning end. :-* Pete was unlucky to take 2 bps trying to pass the peg with a bit of side. Tony and Dilly had the most interesting match of the night with both struggling to make headway once the balls went difficult, see saw game seeing tony remain in contention but never ahead until the vital moments when a lucky 490 break sealed the game and match. Colin came off early and derek didnt capitalise on the situation, the balls went difficult and both failed to improve their scores significantly, derek managed not to get the last ball down on several occasions and when he did he took a peg as well. Peter was alas up against it with jenny makeing a few steady breaks while peter made a few pegs jenny kept ahead of the game throughout and took a consolation point for the visitors Stewart played the best game watching from the sidelines tonight allowing our novice to get some well earned off the spot match practice do well done Stewart
