Three Bees 1.5 Dun Horse 3.5
Nigel Tomsett 1250 Dave Simmons 3850 Dave Tomsett 3880 Grant Hope 2430 Mike Lennon 1910 Colin Bolton 2790 Steve Eely 730 Keith Etheridge 2950 Lin Lennon 1760 Stuart Hope 1760
Game 1: Dave started with 1800 and managed to keep adding. Not much going Nige’s way. Game 2: Grant opened out an early 1k lead. A steady 3k from Dave midway swung it. Game 3: Close early game before Colin pulled ahead. Balls not running for Mike. Game 4: Steady potting from Supersub Keith. Slippery Steve didn’t get going. Game 5: Close friendly game from start to finish. Lin left Pops 200 behind with the last ball. Nerves of steel, he potted it in the 200 to draw the game. 8-)
A fun evening at the Windmill as usual rounded off with tasty sandwiches and chips. :P

Nomads won an epic struggle between Div Two's top two teams. After the first four frames Mill House were lucky to stand all square, Dave Sands and Hugh Fowler being well worth their wins and Sparrow having lost what would have been a winning break as the bar went. The best game was saved till last, and in a fitting finale Alan pulled level with a well-worked 2.5k break at the end only to miss the last ball into the 100 hole - which a grateful Barney then potted ! Scores: Mill House 2, Blue Ship Nomads 3 Graham 1360, Colin Barrow 1070 Barry 2400, Dave Sands 3650 Mick 1180, Hugh Fowler 3620 Clive 5530, John Thayre 1940 Alan 3420, Peter Barnett 3560
A good-natured evening with a team of real gentlemen who we think left our pub happy (deservedly so) but almost left their cues behind! PS. J.T. described our table as "just like the Railway" - high praise indeed !

Southwater Club 4 Springbok Club 1
R Manser 1490 G Jarrett 730
A game in which both Ray and Graham struggled a bit. All balls ended up on the bottom cushion, hence the low scoring game. Graham pegged a few times losing about 1k collectively, so result could have been different
M Blake 2890 N Grouden 630
Norman, only playing his second match ever started slowly and this was matched by Mel. Eventually Mel got it going and though Norman tried, his in-experience of the angles let him down.
K Newman 1900 G Marshall 2480
Gaz started well and Keith struggled at first. Gaz was always in front and lost 800 points along the way to claim the game.
T Franks 6880 T Goacher 1030
Only one person in this encounter. I got the break then missed with second shot. Two breaks of 2.5k and 3k from Tony put this game well out of my reach.
A Temple 1480 B Hicks 1420
A game where both players were not at their best. Bill took an early lead and stayed there as the bar dropped. Then Tony cleared the remaining balls and sank the red in the 100 hole to steal the game at the death.
Pleasant evening, good company and sandwiches.

Stout House A 1, Limeburners 4
Another drubbing, the only consolation being my lonely game! I think the Dewds should start charging entrance to their masterclasses:
Tidy 1180, Chip 3300
Chip broke with just over 2k, John never got the break back despite valiant efforts.
Tony 940, Dick 8790
Dick broke with 7950, Tony had no luck.
Pete T 1820, Brian 3440
Good game by Brian, Pete could have won but got the break back twice only to pass the 50 with the red both times.
Pete H 4030, Mark 1290
Mark broke with 200, and after a bit of to & fro I got the break back and sank 2000-odd. Mark then had no luck and I came back with another 950. Yay!
Sam 1480, Rick 11680
Rick in excellent form, Sam bravely responding, with Rick just losing out on the highest away break by misjudging at the end.
Another excellent evening, thanks to the 'Burners!
Pete

Yes, good win for the Skip boy, and the Railway, would just like to point out that the food afterwards was fantastic, especially the curry, however, my work colleagues have asked that I do not partake in it again!!!!
Well done the Railway, we had a great night as always
