Northampton C have unfortunately withdrawn form the Main Competition (and only the main) therefore Reading B will go through by default. Phil Hawkins informed.
Please note that Northants C will still be playing in the C team shield.

I hear that wallingford B beat eynsham A 5-0 Yes we did win 5-0 at home last night, after a tricky start with Geoff Mace winning on the last ball in the opener against Maxi the rest of us were able to get wins to give us a lead of 5-0 for the second leg and an aggregate lead of approx. 29K to 12K. The return leg is scheduled for Friday 17th May.

2nd leg
Wallingford A 2-3 Oxford A - Oxford A win 7-3
Mark Turner beat Alan Oliver Tony Martin lost to Steven Sheard Phil Collins lost to Mark Trafford Dennis Atkins beat Dave Tooke Kevin Godfrey beat Joe O'Farrell
Mark went in with 12k to give Alan no chance and ended up with 16k. Steven came off early but was first to get the break back, getting 6k and then a further 5k. I also came off early against Phil, but was first to get them back and got 10k. Dennis then beat Dave in a scrappy game to start, but Dennis got a 5k break in the middle. Kevin then went off with 10k in the last.
Great victory for us, but the score could have been totally different!

Or does it matter where a team plays there home games? If so would it be ok to play from Jersey as a home table?

This has been brought up in the past about teams playing from venues that are not part of that association but as far as I know not a single proposal has ever been put in at the AGM to try and stop it. For what it's worth I do disagree with it myself as that would put off the association that the team is a member of choosing that venue (not that they would in this instance) in case they met in the competitions.
So, If people feel that strongly about it they should put in a proposal to stop it happening.
Something like....
"No venue can be used in any Inter Area competition if that venue is not a member (plays in) of that particular association unless that venue is not a member of any other association. It must also be inside the boundary of the County of the association that wants to use it for Inter Area purposes"

why should they keep playing at berinsfield when the table isn't even in there league . and I don't find it funny ! I wasn't going to rise to these comments but I can't bite my tongue any longer. Firstly, the rules of the inter area competition do not stipulate that the venue used by any inter-area team must have a team playing in that league. Simple. Secondly, Sean you didn't play in the match so what is it exactly that you have a problem with? Thirdly, this gets moaned about every year but as with every year no one actually puts forward a proposal, let alone turn up at the AGM to discuss things. If you want to propose a change do it and stop moaning! and Finally, With leagues decreasing in size all the time and less and less venues existing shouldn't more time be spent being constructive about things we can do to avoid teams dropping out of the leagues and these competitions rather than just banging on about the same old rubbish time after time! As I understand it there are likely to be fewer teams in the local leagues next year continuing the trend we have had over the last few years, at this rate this competition and the local leagues may not even exist in the next 3 or 4 years if not sooner. Lets all try to be constructive rather than just moaning and not actually doing anything about it. As I say don't moan, propose a change and then turn up discuss it at the appropriate time and get it changed. As I have previously mentioned on here I will not be standing as secretary for Wallingford next year as to be honest I have had enough of doing what is in all honesty a thankless task as people are very quick to criticise but very slow to come forward and do it themselves! To date no-one has come forward to offer themselves for election as secretary at the AGM on 3/6 and at this rate the association will be without a secretary from that date.
