I think the system stinks and I think Wallingford B are well out of order! What's wrong with the 9 tables in YOUR league to choose from???? As I said, stop moaning and change it then. But lets explore this to understand why we are playing from Berinsfield. 8 teams in the Wallingford Winter league for 2012/13: Didcot Con Club A 4 Horseshoes Portcullis Masons Pack Saddle/John Barleycorn Marlborough Gladiators Didcot Con Club B This means 7 venues, if we exclude the venue used by other inter area teams: Oxford Ladies - Didcot Con Club Wallingford A - 4 Horseshoes Wallingford C - Portcullis This leaves us 4 venues, we can discount the following pubs/clubs as none of the B team play from these venues: Masons Gladiators Marlborough This leaves us with one venue Pack Saddle (Burnt out) John Barleycorn (only recently moved in to this Pub and not when teams were submitted, table needs work and there would be numerous complaints I am sure if we played there at the moment) We therefore used the opportunity to play where 3 of the team do actually play all be it in the Oxford League - Berinsfield. If this does not answer the point in a sensible reasoned argument then I am sorry but it does not warrant any further comment... ::)

I think you should be banned That's enough please, take it to the relevant committee. Sav Sorry Sav i just want to say 1 quick thing. Now i play out of Berinsfield social club and i said to Colin that is there is no rule stating that inter area teams have to play out of a certain venue then feel free to use our table. As far as rules go i agree with everything people say don't like it do something about it go to AGM and propose against it but if that happens and tables become unavailable then inter area along with normal billiards will DIE a slow death. I'm not looking to argue or start anything i just wanted to state a point because i think its just petty to be honest.

This is pointless. As they stand, the rules allow Wallingford to play where they like and I cannot make things up as I go along. The ONLY way it will change is to put a proposal to the AGM in January where it will be discussed and voted on by the members present.
Thank you Chris..

Points have been put by both sides, you had been asked to desist from further comment about matters that can only be decided at committee. I must thus make this a warning. Sav

Sav SAV when is the inter area AGM? The Inter Area AGM is at Bletchington SSC on Sunday January 12th 2014 starting at 2.30pm. Any proposals have to be with me 14 days before the AGM, in writing and properly seconded. Proposers should be present at the AGM to argue their case. Tony

Wallingford B beat Eynsham 7-3 overall losing the 2nd leg 3-2 at the Vikings club on Friday, just as well we won the home leg 5-0 as we were all getting very twitchy losing the first 3 legs of the night with our 17K aggregate lead being wiped out in the first 2 games alone!
Mick Jones played the table particularly well in the first scoring over 12K against Paul (Butch) Lawson and Geoff Powell continued the form with 9K in the second against me. Ian Moss then won the third against Craig Mace and it was thanks to Dave Barnes beating Colin Winstone in the fourth to give us the point we needed, Colin was unlucky to lose his opening break and that made all the difference, Geoff Mace won the last game against Maxi to complete the evening.

Reading C 1 Witney A 4 at Our Lady of Peace, Earley, Reading.
We followed our 5-0 home win with an efficient win away from home. Colin Brooks took the first for Reading against Terry Cook but Jon Bamsey opened with 10,020 to give us the critical point. Excellent night in excellent company and some very welcome and delicious food afterwards.

I understand that Reading A managed to overturn their 3-2 deficit against Northants A the other night with a convincing 5-0 win.
Many congratulations to them and good luck in the next round.
