Ouch!! What happened Phil? Portcullis top was really tricky and alongside that, we were just that rubbish ;D hoping for 2, maybe 3 but Reading grasped the tricky pace miles better than we did.

High Wycombe A 3 Witney A 2
at the Queens Haslemere
Darren Isard 18560 Jon Bamsey 0 Doug Carswell 4210 Bill Keenan 4730 Ray Hussey 3850 Terry Cook 2220 Terry Isard 10090 Tony WIllis 290 Andy Godden 1300 Roger Bowen 3450
Aggregate 38010 to 10690
What a strange match! Darren ran the table out in the first with a superb 18,560 and took out our star player to boot. He will be sorely missed by Wycombe when he moves to Norfolk! From then on everyone struggled on the slow but true table. We were thankful to come away with two points and as for me, I scored 290 and didn't lose any! Some days they just don't go down :-S Sociable night though, nice supper and good company....

Breaks Darren Isard 13120 away, Geoff Pitt 10380 home This is a short report from Geoff Pitt (captain of losing team Reading) and I must say that I am so impressed with the sportsmanlike attitude of both teams during this game and thanks to Geoff for sending the result in. Very well done to Wycombe on reaching the final and commiserations to Reading after a fine run in the competition. Hi Tony,I’ve attached my scoresheet for our semi which was completed last night. It was a very tight match as you predicted, with Wycombe winning on aggregate by just 2410. Wycombe 52,850, Reading 50,440.The match at Wycombe could have gone either way but Wycombe won 3-2 with just Darren Isard and Adam Cox really getting to grips with the table.Keith Lewendon did well to win the last game and give us a chance for the return leg.On our home leg I kicked of the first game with 10k to level at 3-3 and put us around 12k up on aggregate, but Darren came back with an excellent break of 13k in the second game to wipe that out and put them back in front. Terry was behind most of the 3rd game struggling to get the break back but when he did he dug in and levelled the match again at 4-4.Adam played a solid opening break of just under 9k to more or less assure the 4th game and give us a 5k aggregate advantage going into the 5th game.Ray had to win by just over 5k to take the match, and with Dave unable to get the break back Ray persevered and racked up an 8k score to win by 7.5k.A great match which we all enjoyed, so good luck to Wycombe in the final. Geoff Pitt.

2nd leg being played this Sunday....... All the best, Mark, I'm sure you can turn around the deficit on the Kennington table. Thanks Keith, It all depends on how the players get on with the table now as there has been a new carpet laid in the club, so table is playing differently at the moment until it settles down.....

After falling 5-2 behind and about 18k down after Graham playing well to beat Dave in the 2nd game last night, we were fearing the worst. I had 2 breaks to win my game by 11k and Steve then got his score in 4 breaks (Must have been tired from playing all day ) This left captain Kevin needing to win by 210 to progress, which he did with the help of a near 6k break. Overall an enjoyable 2 games which went right down to the wire!
