Fixtures for Monday 22nd April.... Bridge 4 Plough 1 Very quiet on this thread this week, with the Star v Brewers game being postponed and (unusually) no report from the Bridge v Plough match either.... :o It's most unlike Little Legs not to enter into a bit of friendly banter at this stage of the season.... ::) ....so I'm wondering whether that is either because he doesn't want to "intimidate" the rest of us because they hit some really big scores.... or if it's just a simple case that he was the "1" that lost and he is now sulking! ::) ;D

....he would like to attain the status of 'silent'(2) ;D That is really bizarre.... I was just sitting here thinking that it would be great if "Silent Knight" played in Lewes League as we could have so much wonderful banter on here.... ::) .... and suddenly there you were posting on here with us! ;D I think we will definitely have to sign you on next year Matt.... Lewes League wouldn't know what had hit them, especially those shy retiring people over in Eastbourne...!! :o ;D

Think little legs didn't want to upset Marcus even though Marcus won ;) :-X

Hello I,m back , been having a bit of a Star nightmare sorting out Finals night and now discovering the mighty Seagulls hopefully will be playing a play off that evening .
Finals night or Play Off game mmmm i,m sure someone will sort out the Billiards ;).
And back to the League here are the scores
Alan 6500 Darren BP Marcus 10730 Geoff 2420 Little Legs 1820 John 5610 Chunky 5480 Fenella 930 Jean 10750 Chase 1570
Yes sorry Marc, Jean did beat your score with a little help ;).
The Fish obviously playing tactics , have to close the pub for a few weeks , making us a wait a little longer before we can regain our title :D :D ;).
Heres hoping the Albion don't finish 3rd or 6th in the footie as i might have to find a supersub :).

Hi Lewes BB Fans
results card for the start v The Brewers played at the star
Colin Southouse 7890 v 1450 Lynne Moyes-Robb Phil Osbourne 6160 v 1430 Richard Spurrier Stewart Chant 2780 v 2390 Ros Appleby Peter Payne 1060 v 1990 Andy Farmer-Wright Tony Smith 2430 v 1440 Piers O'Sullivan
result The Star win 4-1
Colin opened with 5k leaving lynn too much to do
Phil was off early but spud spent most of the game in "peteresk" mode leaving Phil to take the opportunity to make a nice 6k followed shortly after with 2.6k which was lost on a ball behind the 10 hole
Ros left the balls short on the advice of her skipper who was naturally "hung drawn and quartered"... in Ros's imagination, Stewart replied with 1k and followed quickly with another and all was rosy in the Star camp, but Ros kept applying the pressure and a nice safe break with the 50 hole gave Ros a lifeline that looked strong enough to save the game, but Stewart was on at the bar to take the match if not slightly fortuitously.
Peter and Andy spent most of the game trying to lose, luckily for Andy, Peter has become recognised as a grand master, a black peg on the way down Proved peters downfall initailly which gave him the heebeegeebee's for the rest of the game, Andy was working on a 3k break before clambering into the black which failed to fall, but a lip on the 100 the very next ball felled the white. not to be outdone Peter repeated his earlier black peg shot with the same consequences, the result however was a very interesting game ...especially for the spectators ::)
Tony and Piers also had an interesting game with plenty of chances for both but tony always seemed to have the upper hand
So 8 points in the last 2 games puts us right on the bridges tail but not enough to make a differnce me thinks, with a possibilty of Ozzie taking the top spot in the averages if things go awry for dave and alan on the 9th
