Good evening all, Even though we are 196 days away from the start of the tournament the entrants have started to flood in, therefore, to ensure you get your place in the prized Doubles Tournament, limited to 64 pairs, send your entrant in, with fee. Singles is unlimited but you may as well enter at the same time! ;D N.B. - Singles fee = £10 Pairs fee = £15 Entrants received will be updated constantly on the Jersey website: www.jerseybarbilliardleague.co.ukCheers all Sean

Hi Sean,
Only 191 days (3 hours and about 45 minutes) left now according to the "count-down" clock on the Jersey Website which, as you can probably guess, Colleen thinks is absolutely fantastic.... :o ;D 8-)
Our flights, hotel and car hire all booked.... best deals I found were British Airways for the flights and Europcar for the car hire.... so that only leaves me to send the entry forms to you. ;D
Look forward to seeing everybody out in Jersey later this year.
Dave & Colleen
PS. I will remember to sign the cheque this year.... honestly I will! :-[ :D

I've booked with Blue island from London City for £98, 30 min checkin, no extras whatsoever and transferable. British Airways from Gatwick were £174.70 for the two of us (£87.35 each) when I booked and that includes a 23kg luggage allowance so plenty of room for some duty frees.... :D ....you do have to pay an extra £7 each to reserve a seat if you want to arrange to sit next to somebody.... but it still saved nearly £80 in comparison to Flybe who wanted £253.84 for the two of us! :o :P Isn't the internet a great thing for finding the best deals... :D

Hi Sean
Can you check please. I sent a cheque off on 30.4.13 for £35.00 for Jean & Alan Brackenridge in the doubles and both in the singles. Im sure I checked the entries (although dont think they were on a spreadsheet) off the Jersey site before and we were on it. I was impressed that we were about the 4th people on the list and that I was organised for once! We now seemed to have disappeared. I also checked bank statement and it doesnt look like the cheques been banked
Thanks
Jean
oops somehow posted twice!! cant seem to find a button to delete a post? Done it for you Jean - Q

All,
Entrants now as follows:
Juniors: 1 (more will no doubt follow on the weekend). Singles: 68 Pairs: 36
With Pairs limited to 64 we are over half subscribed with approximately 5 weeks to closing (and no Jersey entrants yet), therefore if you are still wishing to enter, send them quickly as it is first come, first entered.
Cheers all Sean

Hi Sean, This may be a silly question.... but it seems strange that you appear to have received entries for 6 pairs (12 players) from Guernsey in the Doubles Competition, but only 2 entries (Bob Chapple and Norman Wilkinson) in the Singles? Perhaps they are sending the Singles entries separately, but I wouldn't want the Guernsey players to think that they have entered if you have not received their entry forms..... or you have not received them.... perhaps Stormin could check to see if they were sent with the Doubles entries? Hi Dave,
No panic, discussions have taken place and singles are being sent separately at a later date.
On a separate note to all......
I have today received in the post an open envelope with nothing in it. The post mark is Gatwick, dated 18/09/13. If you, or someone you are aware of has recently sent in entry forms and they don't appear on the list shortly please let me know. I just hope you haven't sent cash in the envelope as this can't be cancelled!
If I don't hear from somebody then they will be in for a shock come the weekend when they find they aren't in the draw(s).
Sean

What time does the pairs competition start? I'm asking because if I come over by ferry it doesn't arrive until 12:40 I would then have to get to the Merton, is this possible?

I thought the pairs started around lunchtime on Friday (from memory) hence the question, I have just been offered a deal (including ferry) for less money than the BB rate at the Merton

Doubles definitely starts at 19.30 on Friday. It has never started during early afternoon (unless this is when you start the drinking!)
