If you cast your mind back about 5 months to Guernsey , he is probably referring to the support aebba gave him when he complained via various letters which to this day still hasn't had a written reply from the aebba . HE done the proper thing and wrote to you but aebba couldn't or wouldn't write back with any answers .

If that is the case, and I have no reason to doubt it then surely this matter needs to be dealt with and settled once and for all as it has now dragged on for 5 months. Everyone involved can then move on.

An E-mail was sent to Lewis containing the Decision of the AEBBA, in response to that E-Mail Lewis responded with his heavy footed letter. I did not reply back to him as I am required to be Responsible in my position as Secretary. In my opinion this matter is closed to any discussions.

It would be really helpful if items were not mixed up as this thread contains many issues,
Are we talking about Bournemouth and the proposal re residency??
Are we talking about an issue re Guernsey?? Over 6 months ago ??
Are we talking about the AEBBA committee??
If you don't agree with Bournemouth and residency I assume you will turn up to the AGM and vote that way?? and that will be then end of it
If you have an issue re Guernsey I assume you will write to the Guernsey Committee?? It was their competition. Not the AEBBA. Why should the AEBBA be involved?? Never understood that from the start??
If you have an issue with the AEBBA committee I assume you will write to them?? and then I assume they will respond.
I fully agree with Colin, superb posts, I too am disillusioned re the constant moans...
AGAIN
Where are the thanks for Dave for delivering the tables, sorting competitions.. including Ian Gordon in this and I know Mark has helped ??
Where are the thanks to Sav re the refurbishment of tables and monitoring of them and ensuring the van is running as well as Treasurer??
No never really seen that, except on the competitions after an event , and hey they do a wow amount of work that none of us do.
Bash them if you want to ... but bare in mind there is no one to take over... so no volunteers no events
But hey you can stand as AEBBA committee ... and then you can be prominent in making sure that what you disagree with happens
I appreciate people with constructive help and support like Colin who quickly helped out at the Bucks re tables for the finals, great advice
So can we not just give support and advice ?? as a minimum??

Well said Chris, and I think we are getting crossed wires and also as it has been decided to discuss residency at the AGM and that is the time for people to turn up and air their views and vote.
It does seem to me that a few do like to get on their soap boxes and just slate those who do the work without trying the job themselves and experiencing the problems faced, with the deal struck for Bournemouth how can anyone blame the hotel for wanting our full support.

Please keep this thread on topic.
Update thus far
Twenty four rooms have been allocated.
Seven of the ten singles have gone, when the other three have been allocated then single occupancy of a double supplement will be payable, please share wherever possible, there are plenty of twin and triple rooms.
I will update the entries in the members section shortly.
In answer to questions.
AEBBA will still take bookings and entries after the existing closing date, at the negotiated discount prices, up until closing balances are due at the end of January, however the hotel may accept any non bar billiards related bookings from after the normal closing date at the end of November .
The hotel are holding all rooms until the existing closing date except for a few lesser quality that AEBBA do not intend using but which may appear on el-cheapo booking sites. If you wish to book one of these direct, then you are free to do so, but send in an entry form and fee to myself.
The association will still consider a proposition at the AGM that residency is compulsory if you wish to play from 2014 onwards.
As stated previously AEBBA will refund any deposits through cancellation up until the closing date for payment of balances at the end of January at which point the invoice will be finalised with the Queens and paid shortly after. If there is an unavoidable reason for cancellation after the end of January I will do what I can to get a cancellation out of the Queens.

Hi Chris,
Are you looking for sponsorship of the tables for Bournemouth in March? If you are, the 'Bucks Open 2014' would like to sponsor one please. Let me know how much (£52 I seem to remember) and who to make the cheque payable to.
Thanks, Dawn.

Changes to plan!!!
AEBBA are to ask Jersey to play the 2014 international at Bournemouth on the Saturday evening, this was agreed in Jersey by the AEBBA committee. Care will be taken to try and avoid players playing on the same tables in the pairs. Jersey cannot commit to their side until December, thus the closing date for Bournemouth 2014 will be relaxed as announced before. The hotel have agreed to extend holding the entire hotel until New Years Day.
The proposal to the AGM for playing being conditional upon residency will not take now effect in 2014 if passed, being relaxed for one year until 2015 when the effect of the changes becomes clearer.
Those who have not booked in so far could you please indicate if you only want B&B as I missed this when I copied last years forms which assume half board.

Update 22/12/2013
A plea from the organisers!
I am getting reservations by phone, PM and text message. I have ten players with declared partners who have yet to book in. I have eight room reservations that I await a deposit for. Several of the top players have yet to book in.
The forms are available and have been out there for many months, please use them as it's difficult enough to keep track with them, and much worse with this year's messy situation.
To avoid potential disappointment, please get your forms and deposits in by the end of the year, please remember all singles are single occupancy of a double now with the supplement payable. Confirmation of reservation will not apply until the deposit is received and will be applied in that order.

That date is the closing date for the balance of payments.
The form said Closing date for deposits and registration is 31st December 2013.
Chris Saville is extremely kindly continuing the main organisation of this, you will need to ask him here how that stands.

I see that post Curt, but then there is also this post which states forms have to be in by the end of the year! (Which is after the one you have quoted) Only asking for a simple answer to a simple question, if that is too hard, i shall not bother

Dear All
The Bournemouth Pairs is usually drawn at the Oxford Open. We though cannot make the Oxford Open, so it will be drawn on Sunday 9th February at the Inter Area Sevens.
Thanks Chris

I notice that on the scrolling news feed on the main page it states - Closing date for registrations and deposit for Bournemouth is New Years Eve
There are so many different deadlines on this thread, which is why i have asked the question in the first place.
So I will make one final attempt to get an answer as to when the actual closing date is, if someone could PLEASE provide an answer?
