Codebreaker X remains outstanding code 3 and code 4 have the same solution matrix so only worth 5 points each but with the greater number of characters to work on it should be easiler to resolve with a added bonus of finding a clue to solve code 1 which i must say is brilliantly simple....when you know the answer ::) good luck codebreakers regs cs

Funny how one little clue makes all the difference............. 3. Eastbourne has its moments. 4. How many other codes only have two characters ? Your next clue would have been % = A; $ = E; * = I; ^ = O; & = U. ;)

Your next clue would have been % = A; $ = E; * = I; ^ = O; & = U. ;) Well done tommo, 10 points. all the non vowel letters just move 1 place and the vowels have a substitute character, I'm glad another clue wasnt required, with a little application the result will come to you for number 1 which on the face of it looks tricky but really isnt. its just a bit daunting when youare faced with an unusual format, once you get the code right you wont believe its simplicity, no more clues i'm affraid. regs cs

Is 1) a Baconian Cipher ? :-/ QUICHE ? nothing so tricky didn't think so. The Baconian cipher works in sets of 5, so \ //// would equal ABBBB = Q. And your next letter would have been an X ! see you in another 2 months ! :-*

didn't think so. The Baconian cipher works in sets of 5, so \ //// would equal ABBBB = Q. And your next letter would have been an X ! see you in another 2 months ! :-* the characters are not set in groups of 5, dont forget there are ONLY 2 characters or groups of characters which form a letter.

aha ! and your next clue no doubt would have been "John Thaw". ;)
1. THE CAT SAT ON THE MAT.
/ being dot, and \ being dash.
You are right, it was a good'un, caused me much fruitless head-banging from time to time. ::)
