Thanks. Dave Blimus ! Hope it's nothing too serious and that you are comfortable. Some good nurses and plenty of ice cream will hopefully get you through this. Get well soon, tommo and margo x

Dave asked me to take him to A&E 7am saturday morning after having ineffective antibiotics from the doc. his left arm was swollen from his fingertips to his shoulder with a fluid balloon where his elbow is supposed to be - olecranon bursitis ? they kept him in and put him on iv drip of antibiotics - heavy dose stuff. the balloon ruptured on monday and they bandaged it. changed his antibiotics to injection in his hand tube, and changed the type. apparently today they said it shouldnt have been changed but given as well as the other. his arm is still swollen due to a big build up of fluid and pus and being treated for cellulitis. he is on pain killers and antibiotics and probably staying in there another 2-3 days so far.
I don't know what is happening next and/or wether they will operate to open it up and flush it out....
I will update later as I have to go to work after hospital visit.
p.s. apologies to Lewes for taking over the thread....

Thanks for the update Colleen, and please convey to Dave that we all wish him well at this worrying time.
Knowing Dave and what a fighter he is we are confident that he'll be out in time for the Open this weekend - even if he is heavily bandaged and has to play all shots one-handed...

well, after finally getting some proper treatment (involving removing the bandage, oozles of fluid pouring out, then a further load of gunk squeezed and syringed out) and correct antibiotics and also some sleep ! - he may be coming home today or tomorrow.... yay !
he does have his phone with him and gets texts and e-mails.

I am pleased to advise that I am now home and feeling much better, despite the efforts of some members of the NHS! :-X :-X

Great to see you back Dave, hopefully feeling much better.
I think Tommo might have missed a letter from his comment, perhaps he meant the new competition for Under 30st players, its been added to the calender so that Glenn can binge away to his hearts content trying to make sure he's ineligible for that as well ;D

We will have to make make a list of things you can do with 1 hand..... ::) Window-cleaning is out. ;) So's juggling, semaphore, tying shoelaces, and playing the violin. :D Also, no good taking a rowing boat out on the lake......Colleen would have to do the rowing, otherwise they'd be going round and round in circles. ;D ;D
