Who will do it for the Ladies ? Hoping to see Laura Robson have a good run, but on current rate of progress it will take a couple more years for her to conquer those unforced errors and become a serious contender.
Hard to see past Serena again, but you never know......

I would love to see Azerenka win it.... but think Sharapova is probably the only one who has a chance of beating Serena, either way I would much rather watch either Vika or Maria playing although the grunting is annoying.... ::)

Laura destroys the No.10 seed with a powerful display - that should do her confidence some good. She's up against a qualifier next (Mariana Duque-Marino of Colombia) and I wouldn't bet against her going on to defeat 24th seed Shuai Peng.

Amazing day at Wimbledon with Sharapova knocked out and Azarenka withdrawing due to the injury she sustained on Monday.... assuming Williams avoids injury I can't see anybody getting close to beating her now. ::)
It's a pity that so many players have withdrawn due to injuries after falls on the court.... perhaps the grass is more lush this year than in previous years or they have prepared them differently, certainly something doesn't seem quite right this year? :-/

Lleyton Hewitt reckoned when interviewed that players should expect the grass to be lush in the first couple of days. I was half expecting him to claim that by the fifth day the pitch will be 'turning'.
Certainly though I have never seen so many go out through injury in one day. Not a tournament for those who make it known they prefer clay.
Waiting now for Shazza's post match interview - looked jolly painful when she nearly 'split her difference'. :o :o

Did anyone else see the picture of Laura in the Mail (my favourite paper ;D) today? She actually looked like she was hulking out! If her boyfriend cheated on her he would have to high tail it with the hammer down!!

Did anyone else see the picture of Laura in the Mail today? Missed that but was glued to the set today for Robson's excellent 2nd Round win. And just as it is happening for Murray, a similar path is being cleared for Laura with all four seeds from her section of 16 falling by the wayside.....Angelique Kerber (7), Maria Kirilenko (10), Shuai Peng (24) and Romina Oprandi (31) - all gone. The odds are now very much in favour of her reaching the Last Eight and having to play Serena Williams. :o :o

The surprises continue ! Semi-Finalsists are Lisicki v Radwanska and Bartoli v Flipkens, so of all the choices on our poll only Radwanska (tipped by BigPhil) left. It seems that tommo's assessments of a year ago were nearer the mark (I'm way off beam this year): :-/ Heart says Radwanska but something at the back of my mind says that Sabine Lisicki has the potential to pull it off this year.

Hoping the plump, wacky little minx Bartoli will make a good game of it. ;)

BigPhilMac wins this bit of tipstering with his official vote for semi-finalist Radwanska. Tommo is runner-up (despite backing the wrong horse) for the 'combination' predictions of a good run for Laura Robson; a year-old tip of success for Lisicki; and a vote of support for winner Bartoli. 8-)
