Brewers 5 Laughing Fish 0
Andy Farmer Wright 3440 Jim Ashford 2700
A good opening by Jim saw the farmer under pressure from the off, Jim scoring 2300 from his break, Andy hit back straight away though and rode his luck stupendously to reply with 3k. Jim got the break back and had a chance to pip Andy at the post but for the untimely intervention of the peg would have done, Andy held on to take the first and keep himself at the top of the players list. 1-0 :D
Peter Hall 2280 Ray Carpenter 1650
Pete lead of in this but can't tell you what he opened with cause I was outside, ??? a good close match through and through with papa Hall keeping his nose in front for most of the tie. 2-0 :D :D
Kevin Hall 2890 Andy Brooks 2050
Another close fought match with father brooks battling hard to stay in the game, Kevin stayed tough though and managed to keep his nose in front retaining his second spot in the players league. And gave the home side the match. 3-0 :D :D :D
Adam Bateup 1540 Les Whiteman 890
Again a neck and neck match this one, neither player really getting a grip of the tie, with young master bateup behind for most of the match and seemingly to find the peg every other shot, but the bateup won through slipping in a 1000 break at the last knockings to deny the Fish once again. 4-0 :D :D :D :D
Richard Jeffrey 1690 Chris Ashford 1050
Close again, with Chris leaving the break short ole Jock thought it was his birthday, and of course promptly missed the straight pot to the right 50 to which Chris jumped on it and potted a couple of the red on the right 50, a topsy turvy match with Jock playing rubbish and Chris struggling equally with the pace of the table, I stuck in a paltry 900 at the last knockings to stay in front and give the boys the whitewash. 5-0 :D :D :D :D :D
A good match and a good laugh wi the Fish boys, table seemed to cause few problems and appeared to play straight and true for some but rolled left according to one or two others. It was very slow though, time to get the ole iron out I thinks.
