Good evening all,
I shall this year be providing screen shots of the results as soon as they are available. These shall be appearing on the Jersey website (www.jerseybarbilliardleague.co.uk).
The doubles tournament is a busy time and shall be posted as soon as possible (as I'm not entering this should be reasonably quick) with the Singles Group stages being posted at the end of the 2 hour stint. So groups 1 to 12 and 13 to 24 will appear from 2.00pm (as I'm playing at 12.00pm I can't do the 10.00am games immediately) with the final groups appearing nearer to 5.00pm.
The live draws will also follow this so data may hit en-mass occasionally but this should still be quicker than people manually typing updates.
One thing I will say is, bear with me as I have many other things to do as well.

A couple of interesting ones so far.......... Sav and Q beat Curt and Gerry and now face the two Kevins in the next round.
And Warrior and Colleen beat Messrs Race and Mepham and now have to play reigning champs Lloyd and Wooton.

The two Kevins beat Sav and Q and have set up a clash against Worthing pair Barnett and Higgins.
Guernsey players doing well in the bottom quarter of the draw - apart from a quick exit inflicted on Tom and Luke Oliver by Lorraine and Sandra Hall.

KT led off with about 13k in the first leg, and when Sav broke down on his break it was game over, to be fair neither Chunky or myself had much to do KT's playing exceptionally well... as is BBW, watched him & Coleen put out Terry Race, Terry started off like he meant business but broke down on 3k, when it came to BBW he took over & then followed with his break

Nigel and Marcus through, the Sheards through, but Dave and Colleen fall to Gareth and Richard. Mark James and Ian Lelliott scrape through against AFW and Boball by just 450. Gallienne and Le Moignan put out El Tel and Diddy. Barbet and Tupper go through at the expense of the in-form Bob Chapple and Stormin'.
Jason Wadsworth and David Jones overcome Jukes and Millward who were tipped to do well.
Surprise performers perhaps are Ros Appleby and Steve Hawkes who have breezed through to the last 16 and now play Milhouse and Beefy......
Biggest shock is that apart from Harry there are only two Jersey pairs left in the competition.

The quarter-final line-up has an ominous look about it, but there were a couple of shocks: The two Kevins are out, at the hands of Paul Barnett and Neil Higgins. And Tupper and Barbet fell to the "bringing together of the D.C.s" (Dave Constable and Dick Cable).
World Championship Pairs Quarter-Finalists (next games Saturday 17:20 and 17:40):
Barnett & Higgins (Wor) v A.Giquel & Fred Jeanne (J) Senior & Chipman (Bri) v Trafford & Hollis (Ox) Sheard & Sheard (Ox) v Wooton & Lloyd (Bri) Gallienne & Le Moignan (Gu) v Cable & Constable (Hor/Red)
Some tasty ties in prospect and good luck to all !
***Many thanks to Sean for his excellent LIVE UPDATE on the Jersey website which is making these little bulletins possible***

No-one but no-one tipped Sammy to win his group, yet he stormed it with 9pts out of 9 !

Just been and had a chat with Trevor, suggested if I break both his arms I might have a chance... then again he'd probably still beat me

Known Group winners (25-36): Terry Race; Gerry Fitjohn; Gareth Lloyd; Chris Saville; Matthew Ogier; Andy Farmer-Wright; Dennis Helleur; Trevor Gallienne; Mr Chris Newson; Terry Molloy; Caroline Jones; Tom Oliver. Group 36 was fascinating in respect of Nigel's performances against the three Guernseymen: he whacked Gary Naftel and Bob Le Moignan with 5-figure scores, but then lost to Tom Oliver by 100 to finish second in the group ! The Plate has been further strengthened with the addition of Mark James, Jim Millward, Dave Constable and Geoff Jukes. Big up to Redhill's Caroline Jones, a convincing winner of her group (35).

Obviously now, the sheets will be updated accordingly rather than extending the page. Therefore, please review the whole page when looking for results.

Last bit of excitement for the night (I hope) the fire alarms went off and we were all evacuated into the car park area, luckily enough the rain had ceased but it was still blowing a hoolie.
No sign of the fire brigade but after about 20 minutes we've been allowed back in

So, to catch up on the 'big picture'..........
The Pairs Final will be contested just after midday and will be between Nigel Senior/Marcus Chipman and Trevor Gallienne/Bob Le Moignan.
Here was the lead up to it: Barnett & Higgins (Wor) bt A.Giquel & Fred Jeanne (J) Senior & Chipman (Bri) bt Trafford & Hollis (Ox) Sheard & Sheard (Ox) lost to Wooton & Lloyd (Bri) Gallienne & Le Moignan (Gu) bt Cable & Constable (Hor/Red)
Nigel and Marcus then beat Paul and Neil 12910 - 6770 and Trevor and Bob beat Richard and Gareth 14460 - 2020.
Also, two rounds of Plate were played late last night, in what looks like a sensible switch by the organisers.....(let's face it to come through from three tough frames on the Saturday should guarantee you to survive into the Sunday, it's only fair !).
The Last 16 Plate looks like this: Sami Baden v Gary Naftel; Jason Wadsworth v Dave Lomax; Sandra Hall v Geoff Jukes; James Whittle v Lorraine Hall; Mark James v Paul Dyer; Ashley Mallorey v Jim Millward; Paul Le Gallez v Dick Cable; Craig Carlson v Vinny Mitchell.
Jim Millward looks in awesome form since his surprise exit from the Main, but good to see Dick Cable enjoying his Jersey after having a recent duel with the dreaded 'big c'.

I'd love to say my game was close..... BUT!!! But I can with all honesty say that I led Trevor on his break game for about 10 mins. He got out of position during his first break, left a ball between 10 & 100 and missed it, I went on and scored 1340 (wow) Trevor got the break straight back and knocked in 10k BUT.... until they were banked.... I was leading

Pairs final on at present - Leading after leg 1 is Nigel & Marcus (13,410 v 1,470) with Trevor & Bob to break.
Photo of the two pairs are now also present on the Jersey site - both teams looking overly excited to be playing!.

A few eyebrow raisers in the last 64 round played early this morning......... James Jeanne beats the evergreen Graham Bisson; Traffs puts out another strong Jerseyman Dave Gallichan; Richard Wooton falls to Keith Vibert, and Lloydy falls to Terry Coughlan. Then in some battles royal, Fred Jeanne beats the (main) organiser Sean; Tupps beats Micky Fairs; Harry the Spider beats Choccie; KT beats "Mr Tables" Nigel Ryall; Ian Lelliott beats Guernsey's Tom Oliver; Fitz beats NewstheJuice. To cap an interesting round, Warrior falls to Curt Driver, last years runner-up Paul Sainsbury is beaten by Roger Taylor and Sav goes out to new Pairs World Champ Nigel. 12 Channel Islanders left in the last 32, but with the draw throwing up Terry Girard v Andrew Rundle and Trevor Gallienne v Bob Chapple, 2 Guernseymen at least are guaranteed a last 16 place.

Another mixture of ominous progressions and shocks in the 2013 World Championship Singles........ Terry Race smooths through in a battle of former Champions: he beats Graeme Le Monnier; One of the top Jersey aces James Jeanne books his place (he beats Peter Hickman), but dad Fred succumbs to Terry Molloy. A third Terry - Coughlan - goes out in a close one to the Chunky Monkey. The Guernsey Terry - Girard - scores a good victory against the odds over Andy Rundle.
Mark Trafford is through against Andy Farmer-Wright, Keith Vibert is through against Neil Higgins, and Trevor Gallienne comes through against Bob Chapple.
The third quarter threw up some shocks......the biggest being Sir KT losing his crown to Pete Sainsbury. And strongly-tipped Steven Sheard was unable to turn round a first leg 4k - 11k deficit against Ian Lelliott.
Ian Champion ended the hopes of Paul Barnett, and Harry Barbet won a real close'un against doubles partner Tupps.
Keith Sheard, Curt Driver, Nigel Senior and Bob King complete the Last 16 line-up. They beat Matt Ogier, Fitz, 'Dipper' Taylor and 'Magners' Powell respectively.
The split - Jersey 4; Guernsey 3; Sussex 5; Oxon 2; Kent 2.
Last 16 of Plate taking place at the moment and play in the Main competition will resume at 5.15pm
