Laughing Fish 4 Hassocks 1 Dave Ingram 9,950 - 570* Dilly Williamson Dilly lost his opening 3k plus break, I managed to get the balls back and made sure first time. 1-0 Ian Lelliott 8,050* - 1,150 Richard Spurrier Ian opened with 7k and Spud couldn't get the break back. 2-0 Bill Kerr 530 - 6,420* Peter Edwards Pete lost his opening break but Bill couldn't get the balls back, a steady 6k break from Pete won the game. 2-1 Tony Jenner 4,150* - 2,320 Derek Taylor Tony off early and the balls stayed at the back for a long time before he got them back again to knock in a 2.8k break, Derek had no luck at all no matter what he tried. 3-1 Henry Brooks 19,100 - 100 Andy Farmer-Wright A superb opening break of 18,420 from H, coming off with over 3 minutes left.... which left Andy enough time to miss his break shot and come off and they both had a couple more visits to the table after that. 4-1 A superb banquet (the only expression that can do justice to it) provided by the venue.... two pizzas, two different kinds of bargees, samosas, three bowls of chips, two platters of garlic bread and a big bowl of chicken nuggets.... we tried very hard to eat it all but it managed to defeat us! Many thanks to Ye Olde Black Horse for the superb hospitality and to our opponents for a very enjoyable evening.

Plough 2 - 3 Glynde Club
Geoff Fairs 1670 v 4420 Sandy Harmer w/over Fred Pope John Staplehurst 3090 v 2600 Chris Turner Fenella Fisher 1250 v 2390 Nigel Pead Chase Newman 5480 v 40 Colin Southouse
Sandy opened with 2k and continued getting small breaks, Geoff spent the whole game (just) missing at the bottom end of the table. Fred sadly had a walkover but played Fenella in a friendly and scored 3460. Chris opened well and gained a 2k lead, John scored a few at each visit and gradually came back and overtook Chris at the end leaving a 220 lead with the last 2 balls, John sank the last in the 100 for a good win. Nigel spent the whole game on the small holes unable to get the break back but stayed ahead of Fenella throughout. Colin opened with 2k which was overtaken by Chase's opening break Colin spent the rest of the game giving chase the break back and topped it all off with a black peg near the end, but well played chase with some quality steady play. Thanks for the pizzas and chips, very well received by all on a chilly evening.
Popped into the Plough on the way home for a quicky and a game with the hope of stirring up our Star mates but were content in having an enjoyable free for all with the cockahoop cock team
