I know it is still an awfully long time away.... but Colleen likes to count how many sleeps there are until our favorite weekend of the year! Has the date and venue been decided for the Guernsey Open next year yet? Hopefully it will be at Les Rocquettes again and on the weekend of 3rd-4th May.... Perhaps somebody could advise if this is correct and let us know when the hotel prices and entry forms will be available?

Hi all
Great news that Guernsey Open is on and at the same location. Looking forward to the weekend as my son will be coming along this year which will be 6 of us from the Lamb and Flag Oxfordshire.
Hoping for a weekend without the issues of last year as the people who give up their time to organise and run the weekend do a great job
See you in May.

Peeps I can look into other hotels near the Rocquettes if you don't mind a short walk. Two hotels come to mind are the Grange Lodge Hotel 5 minute walk and Abbey Court Hotel 2 minute walk I`m sure there are web sites for these champs

Curt Hi Curt I am always amazed at the brilliant job the GSY committee make of the Open for such a small league and no criticism of them was intended (only the hotel...) Tony

Hi
Could we have a little more detail please.
Single occ. 2 sharing etc Also if you stayed a 3rd night last year it was at a reduced rate.
Tom did say that it was the same deal as last year and £108 per night would appear to be an increase.
Thanks
Curt

Best "all-inclusive" flight prices (including baggage, seats & booking fees) seem to be Aurigny as Flybe are not offering any prices on their website for flights from Gatwick after the end of March.... All we need now are the entry forms....

Actually it makes Bournemouth seem a real treat !! £99 per night for two with a three course evening meal that is first class !!
I may go back to the Peninsula lovely hotel.

Will definately be looking at other hotels this year even though i prefer to stay at the venue. Have booked flights and are coming over on Friday and returning on Tuesday. Hired a car so thought we would take advantage of seeing a bit of Guernsey. If I booked direct through the website it would be be £456. The 'special' bar billiards rate would mean it would be £432 a saving of only £24 or £6 per night. Really disappointed at the extra night being the same price as last year it was nearly half price!

Let me know if you find a deal please? I don't know the hotels in Gy.
My small group were going this year for an extended stay, but will discuss the prices on Tuesday. £80 for single occupancy B&B is too much for me (isn't Bournemouth cheap by comparison!).

Just booked a 3* hotel in Castel through booking.com about 5-10 mins car journey. Shouldnt be a problem as we had booked car hire anyway. A taxi probably wont be that much either just in case we both fancy a drink one night!
£224 for 4 nights including breakfast. So hotel, car hire, and flights total £475. To stay at les rocquettes for the 4 nights would have been a total of £685.
It is a shame as I prefer to stay at the venue but saving over £200 goes a long way towards spending money.

We are going Condor again having missed the event last year.
Prices seem to have risen dramatically since two years ago and I had to hunt around for the best deal, one which a) gave us a free night and b) offered half-board at a reasonable price.
Both Les Rocquettes and the Peninsula came in at the top end, and the cheapest option was the Imperial but we've stayed there before and it was a bit remote and we like to try a new one each time to see more of the Island.
So it came down to a straight choice between the Fleur Du Jardin and the Hougue Du Pommier: Fleur charge £26 for evening meal and Hougue 'only' £19 so we decided to go for that one.
It's easy to work out that going B & B saves £57 pp off the complete package price, which is probably the best option for anyone prepared to hunt around for the tennerfest.

Houge Du Pommier is where we have booked. Thought I had made a mistake as on their website it would cost £500 but have checked all the booking details and it was definately £224 for the room and not per person and I definately put 2 people. Think it was £160 for 4 nights single occupancy. Think its now fully booked though. Also checked the flight prices and they have gone up since I booked a week ago so might be worth people booking. Great minds think alike ! The Hougue is not too far away from the venue, has good car parking and should be relatively easy to find: head towards Cobo Bay and turn right at the triangular one-way system.

Looks like a few of us are staying at the Hougue du Pommier then.
I booked for 3 nights today £168 BB for 2 x 2 rooms for all 4 of us. We too are going by Condor.

Ayupp Clive - I am the one who gives the directions out From the Rocquettes you don't have to do the triangle bit. Turn right at the third set of lights turning right out of Hotel. Right at the first filter in turn, and left at the next one. Hotel is on the right further on just past the Guernsey Bowling Centre which has a bar billiards table..... I think some of the England boys stayed there when we played at the Wayside Tavern which is very close also.

You can get the singles/pairs entry form here. There's been a bit of confusion over the price of the hotel, the current price stands at £54 per night, per person. We've contacted the Rocquettes to confirm the price, and we'll let you know if there is any change. Finally, Bob Le Moignan has once again, kindly offered to give lifts (on a first come, first served basis) from the Airport to your hotel. You can contact him on 01481 246738.

And no tennerfest till November sadly, although £10 can still buy a round for the Layabouts at home venue of Ex Service Club which is on the way into town from venue

Houge du Pommier is also very close to La Mare de Carteret School, and anyone who gets up for about 7.30am before breakfast on Saturday morning can wander along to the car boot sale there. Can't promise I will be there that day though after a Friday night at Les Rocquettes
