Just finally got them to agree to six nights for the price of four (double midsummer madness even though it should be weekend only), please don't refer to my name if you try this.
£248 each for four of us, plus flights for £78 each, so not too painful.
Entries: may we pay by bank transfer please? if so sort/acc.
Anyone want an old git for a doubles partner?

I think they have twigged what is going on....
Just got this response...
Unfortunately we cannot offer our Midsummer Madness rooms as they have been taken and are subject to availability.
Dammit...
Back to the drawing board.....

Just had confirmation email for my mid summer madness rooms. I have also been told there are no more midsummer madness deals left! The only rooms available are for GBBA.

I have removed most of my previous posts as the points that I made have also been made by others and I would not want to clog the thread up too much, but here is an update of our situation.... After several emails and 3 long (and, on occasions, fairly heated!) telephone conversations with the Front Office Manageress at Les Rocquettes Hotel, Michelle Lord, they have agreed to allow us to have the special deal for the 3 nights we are staying.... but ONLY because we had booked BEFORE they had accepted bookings from other people for the special deal and they saw that I had also previously contacted them about the offer before booking. I have to say that it was not easy to get them to agree to it though.... Within the email confirmation that they sent me this evening was the following sentence.... PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO MORE ROOMS ON OUR MIDSUMMER MADNESS DEAL AND ONLY GBBA ROOMS AVAILABLE .... so I doubt if they will offer any other players the Midsummer Madness Offer. Considering that most of the players will spend a vast majority of the time over the weekend buying food and drink from the hotel and increasing their profits, I think that it is very poor that the hotel is prepared to offer substantially better prices for a casual visitor to the hotel who can take advantage of the offer at any other time and spend nothing at the hotel at all.... to me that just seems wrong.

Well I booked five rooms for six of us for four nights and as we were single occupancy mostly, the Midsummer Madness jobby didn't apply. However the overall cost per head per night is far higher than it was the last two years AND they wanted a deposit! We've booked ferries etc. so I expect we'll pay it but as Champs says, let's see what they say to him.
It may affect our decisions next year though I'm sorry to say as I thoroughly enjoy this weekend....

We found another deal cheaper than the bar Billiards rate on the Les Rocquettes web site. (link below)£150 each for three nights. It's still a lot more than last year. Last year it was £256 for the two of us. We nearly didn't bother to book when we read the saga of the hotel prices. Considering the amount of food and drink that the Bar Billirads Guests will consume at the hotel over the weekend the fact that they give other guests a better deal is terible. It's really gonna hurt to spend money in their bar now. I hope it's not there next year! www.lesrocquettesguernsey.com/Guernsey_Weekend_Breaks.html BK

Hi Six of us are staying at Le Rocquettes this year, interesting to see quoted £54 a person per night, however some of us are single occupancy in a double room.
Can anyone now confirm what the hotel is offering as there seem to be different point of views on this matter
£54 a night would certainly bring the cost down for all concerned!!!
Looking forward to it

Looking forward to it It is hard to know what the best deal is that is available, suggest the best thing to do is contact the hotel (maybe best NOT to mention the bar billiards) direct and ask them for the best deal available for that weekend.... If you mention bar billiards, they will certainly quote you the "normal rate" that they have offered for the Guernsey Open weekend, if they think that you are just ordinary visitors to the island then you may get a better price?

With the closing date for entries being the 20th April can all those who think they have entered double check the entry list please. There are a few people i would of expected to be on that list. I have checked with Luke and he has no other entries at the moment. (except some Guerns i.e tom and diddy)
Mark Trafford and his crew are you coming?
There do not appear to be may Jersey Men this year? Bob King where is your side kick Kevin?
The draw will be made on the 21st April. Hopefully if my typing skills are quick enough i will update our twitter account Live.@gsybarbillards.

Today has now come where it is your last chance to enter the Guernsey open, really looking forward to it this year and would like to thank everyone for supporting this event. I will this year try and iron out these problems with the hotel prices so that everyone gets a good rate for next year....Please don't be put off as I know there have been issues this year. we will get something sorted to try and encourage more players to come for next years open, look forward to seeing you all soon and safe journey over to the island of Guernsey.
