Congratulations Dave on your superb first "Open" title, thoroughly deserved. I must say sorry to you for leaving after the Semi's and not seeing your triumph but I was shattered and hungry after all that beer! I suppose your next ambition is to beat a Sheard!! Well done to Mark on organising and running the day. Also a special thanks to Dave Alder who collected the tables from Sav on the east coast to allow us all to enjoy the day and to play on the superb tables (I still can't believe the averages per leg).....Thank you. Keith

Thank you for your kind words Keith, although I thought that you had left before you got too excited talking about "milk" with Colleen while she was holding little Hannah Cole.... My next ambition.... ....hmmm, well I know that it can't be this.... I suppose your next ambition is to beat a Sheard!! .... as I have already done that in a competition! Obviously, it would be nice to do it again sometime.... ....but is is worth a pint of John Smiths next time I see you if you can remember (or find out) which one of you it was that I beat and in what competition? Agree with you entirely that the tables were simply superb with so many high scoring games, having seen the spreadsheet with all of the results on I know that there were 5 breaks of more than 20k and 18 more recorded breaks above 15k on the day which is probably the most high scores I have seen in a competition since Kent in 2012, so a big thank you and well done to the people that set them up as well as Dave Alder for delivering and collecting them.

A belated congratulations to Dave Ingram on his first National win at Oxford and commiserations to Ian Lelliot, both players playing well all day. Also well done to Paul Sainsbury on winning the Plate competition and runner up Damian Coates. The tables mostly played really well as proved by the scores. Thanks to Mark Trafford and his team on a well organised day.
