I am pleased to say that the Witney and District committee agreed tonight to donate 10% of our float to the AEBBA truck fund and we will be giving Chrissie a cheque for £200 in Guernsey. We are only small but all our members realise the importance of having a functional All England Organisation.
Come on everyone - this is important - DON"T leave it to everyone else please!
Tony

Dear All I just cannot thank Northants enough for all they have done for the Association. They collected the tables. Stored them . Delivered them to the next venue. They did this charging NO fuel costs to the Association. They have paid the full rate of table hire, so much of this is ring fenced for the van. They kept me informed all of the way. Guys and ladies if I could award you an honour I would do. The outcome is that we have a further pledged £400 to the van from them in addition to what they have done. Thank you is not enough

At a committee meeting tonight, it was decided that the Oxford Bar Billiard Association would donate £200
We have our finals night next weekend where we will be asking for additional doners, so we will send a cheque once we receive the total sum.

We had a committee meeting on Tuesday night in High Wycombe and it was agreed that a donation of £120 would be made towards the truck fund. Apologies that it is not a huge amount, but with only 7 teams we are a very small league. We are hoping to get at least 80 entries for the Bucks Open, so with the £1 added to the entry cost, we should be able to give another £80.
Chris, I will bring the cheque with me on Sunday.

Dear All We have raised almost £7000 between many leagues, counties and individual sponsors. this is superb There is though still £5000 to raise to cover current debts. We also need to ensure monies for table repairs, insurance re the van and public liability. We truly still have a real long way to go. We need to set a contigency plan to pay back loans and build funds for the future !! Thanks in anticipation of more donations Chris N and Chris S

I don't like the idea of individuals having to loan money to AEBBA to pay for the outstanding requirement for the truck, though its a fantastic gesture and thanks to those that have done it.
Cant the county leagues finance this shortfall and recover the money gradually themselves over the next few years as it is they who benefit in the long run

A nice idea but the Northants League simply does not have the funds to lend.
At best we run at break even (even in good years) and when we do get additional funds through competitions or sponsorship it supports donations (as has been given already) or charitable initiatives (such as the Northants Fun Day this weekend or the 9 Counties Challenge which has been detailed elsewhere on this forum).
As ever, we do value the work of the AEBBA and will help where we can (as we did with collecting, storing and delivering the tables) but we simply cannot offer any larger lump sum over what we have done at this stage.
We would, however, be able to budget for higher table hire costs for our one hire next year to help speed the repayment process. I fear, however, that this would be a drop in the ocean.
Thanks,
Lorin Northants Secretary
