Brewbells 5 Watermill 0
Roy 980 Martin 350 This was a game Martin had won that was until the black peg got in the way again very similar to last week.He was over a 1000 in front with not much time left until he hit the dreaded black peg.
Trevor 2510 Kim 2330
Another game we should have won Kim was behind for most of the game but managed to get in front right at the end with bar due and then white pegged it.
Nick 3490 Paul 2180
I only got about 600 from the opening break and then it was just small scores until Nick got the break back and knocked up a decent score I just hung in and was quite pleased with my game.
Ros 2890 Gavin 660
Ros broke off with about 1500 and was in control for most of the game as nothing seemed to go right for Gavin.
Neill 4100 Norman 1360
Norman seemed to struggle with the break and it was nip and tuck until Neill got the break back and got over 2000 and never looked back.
Nice evening with Ros and the boys and the garden shed was actually quite warm and some decent food supplied as well.

Hot off the press..........
........so it seems that Congratulations to the Plough at Plumpton are in order, and commiserations to Hurst who at least have the consolation of being Runners-up.
Despite being whitewashed by Brewbells, The Watermill have held on to the Runners-up place in Div.1 (by just half a point).
And thanks also to this result (their third 5-0 in the last four matches) - and the failure of the Laughing Fish to fulfil their final fixture - the Brewbells have managed to escape the drop !

Bit of a pointless post as you have the result of the St Francis v Horns Lodge match, but should still say what a thoroughly enjoyable evening we had, despite losing (again!). The match swung from one side to the other and was decided by a battle of the Petes in the final game which went to P. Geal for the home side.
So, another season ends. Many congratulations to the Plough and Brewers for their title wins. Very bad luck for Hurst - I really thought they were going to pinch it at the end having home advantage.
Have a great summer one and all; hope to see you all in September.

Well done to my team for another 5-0 - looks like we have managed a Houdini act! Unlucky to the Watermill - especially the Flying Dutchman: with a miss-cue and black peg in the first. The second game could have gone either way - if Kim had kept his last score, Trevor would have needed the 200 instead of the 100. I'm glad that the Watermill will still get their promotion. Unfortunate that the Fish couldn't play their last match - a 3-2 win would have kept them up. Congratulations to Neil Higgins. By winning last night he retains his place at the top of the player list.

For the record, wins for Andy and Pete for the Hurst, Geoff, Chase and Darren for the Plough
As Bob said above, the game between him and Chase was the highlight. Bob went off with nearly 6k, Chase came back with just over 7k then left his one-up short. The bar dropped very shortly afterwards leaving Bob needing another 770 which fortunately for us was just too much.
Thanks to the Hurst for a pleasant evening. They were very gracious in defeat, hope we'd have been the same if the result had gone the other way.
