Gentlemen (and ladies)! Its that time of the year again where we pick pur goals of the season!
There have been some animalistic goals this year but im doing three sub categories!!
Best individual effort, could be a run through the middle or a spectacular at range!
A team goal.
And a European favourite!
I shall set the ball rolling with....
Individual - Ross Barkley v Man City, first time screamer into the far right corner, hard to believe a 19 year old could pull that off!!!!
Team - Jack Wilshere v Norwich, bit of Arsenal bias here, but starting the move off from his own half with some sublime one-touch tiki-taka on the edge of the box to put him clean through! Like Barca of 4 years ago!!
European - Zlatan Ibrahimovic v Anderlecht, 90mph screamer from 30 yards, first touch into the top corner! I am also an Ibra fan-boy im ashamed to say!
Do continue...

Crouch v Man City and Rooney v West Ham do it for me.

I have three more for you Phil: There was an element of flukiness about Crouch's, admittedly, and Rooney's stuck in my mind 'cos it laid the ghost of Beckham's goal against Wimbledon which catapulted him to fame. I was there and it was done in ridiculous circumstances, Wimbledon had manfully held Utd for 89 mins before falling to a sucker punch. Then a full 6 minutes of "Fergie time", all the players standing around hands on hips waiting for the ref to blow his whistle, Beckham swung his leg and the rest is history. Talk about put the boot in !
So my three nominations now would be: 3. Luis Suarez, Liverpool v Norwich back in December - a super lob to complete his hat trick.
2. Alex Tettey, Norwich v Sumderland - similar to Crouch's but he met it perfectly and it went in like a rocket.
1. Jonjo Shelvey, Liverpool v Villa - again from long range but he hit it with power, and put bend on it.
There were also some good ones recently, Rosicky's for Arsenal and an amazing solo run last week from Citeh's Yaya Toure.

Im not sure about Yaya's on the basis that ots not a difficult goal for him as you ought to have the wisdom to make way when hes running at you, built like an arctic and the physical presence of a Rhino!

Yeh, defenders are like big girlies these days. I was brought up on Ron 'Chopper' Harris and Norman 'Bite Yer Legs' Hunter. And Tommy Smith of Liverpool..........Even Roy Keane would have whipped the ball away from Yaya, probably taking both his legs with it !

And quite possibly cause a career ending ligament injury in the process! I think the last breed of animalistic defenders really finished up after Martin Keown and Tony Adams retired!
