Looking forward to meeting the spectacular All-Stars team and Captain Curt in the morning. Very pleased that 9 of the current top 20 ranked players will be there plus some extraordinarily talented others - as well as the Northants sides!!
We are all set for a fantastic day and are already posing the question - The All-Stars may be able to play Bar Billiards but can they bowl? Can the throw a 'cheese'? And what about the forfeits?!!

Sorry Lorin but I can't make it now due to intense pain in my foot. Lin's just brought me back from the doctors (3.30am appointment) where he told me it's probably gout. Keith

Hi Keith,
Sorry to hear that but thanks for letting me know. If it is gout then make sure you eat plenty of tinned cherries - miracle cure apparently.
Feel better soon.
Lorin

What can I say - what a great day we have had.
We managed to raise a fantastic amount and we had lots of fun along the way.
The final score was:
All England All-Stars 116 Northants 102
A huge thanks goes to everyone who contributed, but extra super dooper thanks goes to:
All England All Stars Captain - Curt Driver and his team
Kevin Tunstall Hayley Tunstall Steven Sheard Jon Bamsey Tony Willis Leon Beer Tony Martin Colin Martin Gerry Fitzjohn
We are truly grateful that you were able to make long journeys to support us and although we worked you very hard, I trust you enjoyed the day.
As a league and as individuals we shall endeavour to support your ventures as you have ours.
We are massively grateful.

Well what a great day. As Lorin said my team were kept busy all day playing a representative A and B side from Northants . We played both teams at bar billiards ,skittles and Xbox bowling . I was also given 6 jokers to play throughout the day which would gain us double points. As a way of raising money there were also a number of fines in place. In the billiards there were fines for any foul shot and fines for knocking pegs over ( £2 for the black peg). In bowling if your opponent got a strike you had to visit the dart board and score over 50 with 3 darts not to pay a fine. As the dartboard was on the opposite side of the room this became the " walk of shame ". In the skittles there was a fine for missing on your first throw. Half way through the day there were only a few points in it and it was all very tight in the scores but slowly Northants pulled away and with 2 series of matches to come they were 11 points ahead. Series 11 and the all stars dug deep and pulled off a great series to lead by 4 going into the last rounds. In the last set of 6 matches I played 4 of my jokers of which 3 came through with wins . This secured the win 116 - 102 in favour of the all stars. This was a fun day and I would like to thank all the organisers for their efforts. BRILLIANT As mentioned we were there to raise money and as a result over £700 was raised for Cancer Research UK. This was deffinitely the icing on the cake from a very enjoyable day. Well done everyone

Another great competition through the brainchild of Lorin to go along with the masters, which has added to won of the best season's in the Northants league in recent years. Thanks to all that turned out especially the all starts who had to travel some distance to take part. Amazing amount of money raised for a charity that is very important to me.

Thank you all very much for the great welcome we got at Northampton. A really fun day and I'm glad to see so much was raised - my black pegs helped then! Seriously well done to all the Northants las who worked so hard to make it a success and to our Captain Curt who spent all day rushing about with bits of paper making sure people were in the right place at the right time...we never were (or was it just me?) Excellent venus at the Cock, good food, cheap beer and 'interesting' tables. That Northants skittles is a great, if a little dangerous, game and the 'walk of shame' to the darts board after bowling failure was a touch of genius. thanks again guys Tony
