A friend has asked me if I know of any tables for sale, where he lives the landlord of the pub is looking to buy one for his traditional boozer. Has anyone got one they don't want or know someone who has, rather than taking a gamble on ebay,

Hi Ian, Good news that another traditional pub is soon to become a bar billiards venue.
The trouble with the request is that decent tables are like second hand cars: if you're a private owner who's been lucky to find a good 'un, you're going to be reluctant to part with it. And most of the ones that end up on eBay have something wrong with them.
However, the two that are on eBay at the moment (a SAMS and a Riley) both look genuine and in tip-top condition. Admittedly the Riley has a 10 pence slot which is unlikely to make a fortune in revenue - but, if installed in a pub, a system could be put in place using the old coins as tokens.
Regards, tommo

I'm going to be selling a table very soon from the AEBBA stock.
It obviously will not be the best table but simply the one I feel is most susceptible to damage from being transported on the van.
In a pub environment, where the back of the table is to the wall, the wear and tear to the back of these tables should not be visible. I have to cover costs for AEBBA on the swap-out and it will have to have a coin charging clock, so I'm guessing around £850 at present. The AEBBA light will not come with it but I might have a canopy in the garage.
Chris

Has anyone got one they don't want or know someone who has, rather than taking a gamble on ebay, Carl from the Norwich BBL is selling his nice Jelkes, fully compatible for pub use with a working timer: see separate thread started today.

As Colemanator will tell you.
Appeared timewasters to me, pub never answered emails or back-up phone calls to bar staff.
Sav.

Ok, I've completed a 3-year stint on the table assessments, and enough's as good as a feast as they say. So feel free to do your own assessments from now on and try not to be too unkind.

Two Supremes, one Narrow Sams, one Jelkes with blue cloth and quite a chequered history (bit of a risk).
The Nottingham one has attracted some interest, I see a question has been asked by "Chris".

Yes the Nottingham looks very tidy, I presume it will fetch a fair price.

Not me as it's obvious what it is.
Clock is freeplay having the coin acceptance bits removed. Doesn't look bad and cannot see a support bar on the slate to indicate a crack.

Oh come on Tony - it's obvious! The slot is just below the nose. Legs look a bit short though......

Seriously I have never seen the like of the photo sent to me (very eventually), it's an arcade machine that looks like a cross between Billard Russe and Bumper Pool.

Ah - I've seen those before, or certainly very similar. There was a US company, whose website I found a few years ago, who were trying to develop a 'bar billards' type electronic game. So I reckon this is an American import.

There seem to be a lots of tables for sale on ebay at the moment. Prices seem a bit steep though.
