Kennington 5-1 Red Lion
Keith 4150 - 2610 Martin Mark 7980 - 5220 Jon Ian 8110 - 1850 Ian Keith 5090 - 3720 Martin Mark 6180 - 3600 Jon Ian 5530 - 6650 Ian
Keith & Martin games were both a little scrappy with both getting the break back a few times but not able to rack up a decent break. Jon was 5k up in the first before i got a 7k break at the end to snatch it. 2nd was a bit scrappy with me just amassing enough. Ian went in with over 6k break in the first with Mossy coming back in the 2nd, Ian G was on a chase at the end but just ran out of time when 1k behind.

Evening started by finding the table spattered in PAINT and moved about a foot in both directions and this set my mood for the evening as can be seen from my scores!! How can we get across to the landlords how important it is that the table isn't moved???? To be honest this happens every time we have a game and I couldn't be bothered to do a full set up AGAIN last night. I just moved it back to where it should be, got most of the paint spots off and it was cr*p - I apologise profusely to the Plough team for that. Not much to say about the game really except that Kevin played very well in the last to finish with over 9K but it was not a victory of which we should feel proud TBH. Tony

Glad to hear the table was not ruined by the paint....I would have been fuming it was mine.

Tony Thats a huge shame about your table Tomy. We've had issues at Berinsfield SC in terms of lack of care, which is clearly the problem, when kids were allowed to climb all over our table and rip off the plastic score/hole corresponding diamond thingys (such precision) and the legs get knocked out of place! It becomes like controlling a Teccys trolley!! Took us ages to drum it into the staff and club commitee that it was getting far too out of hand!! Thankfully it has been a flier for the last year and a bit!

We've now had that twice in our league where parents have allowed ill behaved brats to pick off all the score labels from the front of the table. Probably blame it on the teachers at school for their poor behaviour!!

Looks like you could benefit from one of these, especially if you privately own the table: Those of you who have visited whilst we were at the Mill House may have noticed a clever piece of kit designed by the landlord which disguised the table when not in use and turned it into a buffet table ! A cover of extended length is required (210cm x 100cm), but the clever bit is the part which fits round the rack which looks like this from the front and back: The joy about it is that when the lid is affixed, a) ankle-biters can't climb on the rack and b) the baize is completely protected should a pint be spilled. And when not in use it doubles up as a cue rack ! When the pub closed the landlord kindly donated all the kit associated with the table and the locking front and cover fit a different table in our replacement venue perfectly. I have taken a note of the dimensions for publication in case anyone is interested. Protects everything, especially the precious rack, and also the pockets from having chalk and/or detritus put down them. I hadn't the heart to tell Margo though that I had once found chewinggum under the lid when I lifted it up ! It seems that in this day and age nothing is sacred !
