A thorough report Pauline and well done in your match on the tricky table 3.
Well done again to the rest of the team for an excellent result.
Keith.

The circumstances of his lost break are very different to the 8,000 break lost that you are referring to. Leon’s was the opening break in the 1st leg of a 2 leg match when although 1 point was probably safe there was till opportunity to put the 2nd point (and match safe). The 8,000 break you lost was in the 2nd leg of a match where a touch up would ensure 2 points, so there was no point in carrying on. The loss of that break threw 2 points away for the team, which could prove vital in the final score. Crikey, all I did was to make a comment in support, and to empathise, with a mate, and get this from a moderator. But as you mention it, I still do not see much of a difference, especially as I do not feel that the aggregate point had been gained at the moment I lost my break. But do not worry, I am not available for England matches now, so the point you make at the end of your post is irrelevant. Thank you.......

Pete, your previous post was more to make a comment about being tutted at by a teammate 2 years ago and you subsequently being dropped for the next international which you believe is mainly because of the break you lost.
I have replied because I don't want Leon to think that he will be dropped because of his lost break, and as one of the selectors I can assure him that in my eyes he still has a chance for next year (and kt agrees on this)
I seem to remeber you being 'unavailable' for England matches after the 2004 AGM, but all of a sudden became available at the 2005 selection meeting after winning a couple of singles titles that year. Therefore I will take your last comment with a pinch of salt....

I have to get up early (1) to get my work done before going away for the weekend, and (2) to be able to have time to give so many "opinions" in one day!!!!

Anyone got any pictures of the teams - there were loads taken and we can get them on the Allengland website. Email me if you have any to send.

How about the Hickstead Hotel? It's just off the A23, it may be slightly expensive, but laterooms.com shows they are discounting rooms at this time of the year (especially weekends) According to their website www.classiclodges.co.uk/hickstead/Home/home.htm they can offer meeting rooms up to 18.35m x 5m in size, or the Hurst Club is less than 3 miles away. Congrats to both teams!

Evening All,
Just thought I would put something in this thread to confirm that the Jersey teams will be coming across again as we do love coming across, its a nice break, London is close by (currently), Horse Racing, Beer Drinking and the Bar Billiards isn't bad either.
However, even though I wasn't there this year I have been asked by the Committee to send a letter of complaint to the Hotel due to the way the majority of the Jersey guests were treated by the Hotel during the 'fire'.
If we can find a new venue then I feel this may well help a long way towards getting our usual strong team over to you again and hopefully have you 'fighting' for a win like we had over here in Jersey a few years back. We hopefully may start getting cheaper flights again if it is moved to Southampton area for instance.
Anyway, don't fret, we shall be back and we shall try and beat you over there............one day!

Interesting to hear that you would prefer Southampton as the last time it was there, there were many moans about it being too far from "anything interesting". But please let us never go back to this one though! We all said this 2 years ago and did not learn any lesson.

Pete,
I wasn't saying Southampton in general, just that it is close to an Airport where we can fly direct to. Not many different direct flights from Jersey to the south of England you know.
